COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The 2011 Vintage Ale, our 15th, is brewed with some of the finest of this year’s malt and hops. The malt grist includes a portion produced by Warminster maltings, from organic barley grown by Sir James Fuller on the Nestone Park Estate. This will be married with the choicest Goldings, Organic First Gold and award winning Sovereign hops, to produce a beer with a firm malt base, marmalade notes and a satisfying bitter finish. Individually packaged and numbered, this bottle is one of only one hundred and fifty thousand produced.

Amber with hints of brown, a tall cream cap floats on top that lingers for the entire time. Malty with earthy hops, possible honey all show up in this mild but complex nose. Fresh plumb, hints of earthy spice, and a caramel finish. Smooth and creamy, goes down fast and easy. After second pour I get hints of banana in the finish. What the hell is up with "Adventure Time" this cartoon is fawked up but you can’t turn away. Possible cherry, and wood. Some acidity but it works. Always a good brew I look forward to it every year. Your apartment smells like polygrip and cat pee.

Bottle from Supermarket Liquors in 2012. Appearance: finger khaki head that does not last, orange cloudy color. Aroma: biscuit, floral, molasses, cereal. Palate: medium body, alcohol warming, dry bitter finish, average carbonation, oily and sticky textures. Taste: sweet molasses malt into medium floral bitterness. Overall, love this beer! very good balance, super smooth and drinkable, just very much my style.

500ml bottle purchased at the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario. Bottle # 003684. Clear copper in colour with a thin dissipating white head, very light lacing. The aroma is of caramel, light alcohol, floral, nutty, bready. The flavour is nutty, slightly sweet, bready and floral. Warming mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, some sweetness and some warmth. I like this as it seems more drinkable fresh as the previous years. I’ll have to pick more of this up and save some.

Bright amber coloured with a large foamy head. It has spicy red fruit, almonds and peppery hop flavours followed by a sweet warming finish.

Pours a nice amber color with white head. Caramel malt, some citrus, and pine on the nose; follows onto the palate. Nicely done.

What a delight, to find this ale. No. 017154. It looks glowing amber with a minimal head, but aromas of rich, old ale with dates and steamed pudding. There’s spices of cinnamon, cardamom and some ginger. The mouthfeel is full and round with gentle, balanced bitterness. A touch sweet on the palate with those flavours there listed. It’s a real pleasure, a fine exemplar of style I have real affection for from a brewery that is a part of British brewing heritage. Grand.

500 mL bottle. Gushed a bit when I opened it, which has never happened to me with a FV before. Hazy bronze with a thin but sticky beige head. The aroma is fairly strong, and quite fruity, with a little booze. There is a solid note of malt as well. The flavour is fruit, shortbread, booze. Fairly unique. Quite full up front. Nice, as usual.

Bottle. Medium orange, hazy, with a creamy golden head. Aroma of buttered bread, treacle, brandy undertones. Sweet English toffee, sultanas, sherry-like sweetness, light kiss of bitterness and a whiff of perfume in the finish. Quite full bodied, a little sticky. Tasty.
