COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The 2011 Vintage Ale, our 15th, is brewed with some of the finest of this year’s malt and hops. The malt grist includes a portion produced by Warminster maltings, from organic barley grown by Sir James Fuller on the Nestone Park Estate. This will be married with the choicest Goldings, Organic First Gold and award winning Sovereign hops, to produce a beer with a firm malt base, marmalade notes and a satisfying bitter finish. Individually packaged and numbered, this bottle is one of only one hundred and fifty thousand produced.

500 ml. bottle. Number 116571. Pours a medium, long lived off white head, with heavy lacing, over a very slightly hazy, dark amber (SRM 13) body.....nose is heavy malts, with raisin, plum, fig, brown sugar,....taste is sweet malts, with raisin, fig, plum tones, leading to a light citrus peel, pineapple, bitter finish, accompanied by hints of terpene ....mouth feel medium, alcohol warmth lightly present carbonation high. This is harsher than anticipated, with multiple points in the flavors that suggest much more time in the bottle is necessary. Give this time to mellow. BJCP 7/3/12/4/7

Bottle, naturally. No aroma at all that I could detect. Lovely golden red colour. Powerful flavour with a kick from the 8.5%abv. A caramel hit throughout, complemented by a nice, sticky texture. Drank this to celebrate my first 10km race (several hours later, mind).

Bottle, 8.5%. Vinous malty aroma. Clear dark golden colour. Small white head. The flavour is nicely caramelly, slightly sweet. Some alcohol, but not boozy at all.

Ogi’s, of course. Poured a pretty, hazy dark orange-amber body with a small off white head. Sweet raisiny nose, candyish. Sweet taste, brown sugar and raisins, bit bready, light pollen, no bitterness, slightly to sweet, but not bad at all! Better than last year’s version I guess...

500ml bottle. Nice amber body with decent crème brûlée head. Sweetly-fresh aroma is surprisingly hoppy, caramel, vanilla, toffee, a mature one, and not even a hint of alcohol. Taste is dominated by a good dose of malt, with a surprisingly mouth watering effect, caramel, hops, plums, again no hint of any alcohol. Good.

16.9 oz bottle. Bottle no. 119774/150,000. Bottle says best before the end of 2014, but states it should get even more complex after that, if you so choose. Should I be drinking this or aging it?....Well, then. Pours orange with a light haze and a large cream-colored head that sticks around; leaves cobwebby lace. Aroma is biscuity, dark fruits (raspberry). Taste is lightly sweet, a bit tart and finishes bitter. Has a delicious biscuity flavor that intermingles with fruity esters, creating quite the flavor experience. I wish I could age it further, but all the rateable bottles in my beer fridge right now all recommend aging. WTF am I supposed to do? Not rate? What?
