COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The 2011 Vintage Ale, our 15th, is brewed with some of the finest of this yearís malt and hops. The malt grist includes a portion produced by Warminster maltings, from organic barley grown by Sir James Fuller on the Nestone Park Estate. This will be married with the choicest Goldings, Organic First Gold and award winning Sovereign hops, to produce a beer with a firm malt base, marmalade notes and a satisfying bitter finish. Individually packaged and numbered, this bottle is one of only one hundred and fifty thousand produced.

Pours a deep clear amber colour with a medium off-white head. Rich toasted and caramel malt aroma, with a little dried fruit notes as well. Sweeter through out with a slight bitter kick in the middle of the sip. Medium-full body, softer carbonation, creamy mouth feel. A real nice ale.

Bright amber coloured with a large foamy head. It has spicy red fruit, almonds and peppery hop flavours followed by a sweet warming finish.

What a delight, to find this ale. No. 017154. It looks glowing amber with a minimal head, but aromas of rich, old ale with dates and steamed pudding. Thereís spices of cinnamon, cardamom and some ginger. The mouthfeel is full and round with gentle, balanced bitterness. A touch sweet on the palate with those flavours there listed. Itís a real pleasure, a fine exemplar of style I have real affection for from a brewery that is a part of British brewing heritage. Grand.

500 mL bottle. Gushed a bit when I opened it, which has never happened to me with a FV before. Hazy bronze with a thin but sticky beige head. The aroma is fairly strong, and quite fruity, with a little booze. There is a solid note of malt as well. The flavour is fruit, shortbread, booze. Fairly unique. Quite full up front. Nice, as usual.

Bottle. Medium orange, hazy, with a creamy golden head. Aroma of buttered bread, treacle, brandy undertones. Sweet English toffee, sultanas, sherry-like sweetness, light kiss of bitterness and a whiff of perfume in the finish. Quite full bodied, a little sticky. Tasty.

A bit better than last yearís beer. A great very basic malt character. Some quality hops.

Fullerís Vintage Ale 2011 has a thick, stratified, soapy, cream-colored head, a somewhat murky, orange/amber/copper appearance, visible bubble steams, and heavy, splotchy lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is unique- there is that usual turned fruit smell one gets from aged beer, but also sweet bread crust, cellar mold, a touch of hop oil, some sugar, and a sort of metallic note. Taste is of all of these elements, with an addition of straight-forward bitterness, metal (again), and even vegetables (steamed). The mouthfeel is mostly heavy and chewy, and Fullerís Vintage Ale 2011 finishes semi-wet, rich, sharp, a bit alcohilic, winey, and interesting. RJT
