The 2012 Vintage Ale, our 16th, is brewed with three of this yearís finest hop varieties including, Goldings, award winning Sovereign and Target hops. These combined with our unique yeast and organic barley grown by Sir James Fuller on the Neston Park Estate result in a wonderful limited edition brew that has a luxurious flavour.

Individually packed and numbered, this bottle is one of only one hundred and twenty five thousand produced

Although we are obliged to state a best before date of 2015, like a fine wine or whisky, this mellow golden ale will improve with age for many more years

Being bottle conditioned, the beer will form a natural sediment, so pour carefully, sit back, and enjoy this, the very finest of Fullerís ales.

tasted feb. 2015 , bottle no 32560 from superbrugsen enghavevej, 69dkk. cloudy orange, smooth but slightly bubbly orange head. Aroma is sort of like old ale, with notes of wood, wood tartness, malts and some finer notes of flowery hops below that. Flavor is like the finest uk barley wine you can get your hands at. malty and slightly sugary, also slightly fruity, but it keeps staying in great balance, faint herbal bitterness from the hops. Pretty well rounded and balanced english style barley wine is what i would call it, but strong english ale is also okay as categorization.

Hazy amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and with a light crispness. Nice malts, creamy with mild caramel. Trace of toffee. Mellow spice. Nice dried fruits with a little orange. Finishes smooth with a little more spice. Comes together well, nice balance of flavours. One of the better recent Fullers Vintages.

Hazy orange-amber with a small off-white head. The aroma is fruity and malty, with citrus, plum, pear and marmalade, with lighter notes of biscuit and bread crust, and light notes of grass, pine and earth in the background. The flavour is sweet malty, with plenty of fruity character, and a pretty firm hoppy, bitter finish. The marmalade and earthy notes really play a role here, with toffee and biscuit notes showing up well into the aftertaste. As usual, Fullers vintage doesnít blow you away on sight, but there are plenty of nuances to explore.

Bottle(#37921): Deep golden, hazy, stable off-white head with a little lace; sweetish raisiny and woody nose, some sugary notes included; moderate to solid sweet flavour, barely full bodied; lingering fruity-vinous finish with a small amount of warming alcohol. Good, but not the best VintageÖ

Bottle as a gift, thanks Mait. Had this for over a year now, thought it would be good to finally open it in a cold night like this. Bottle no 81 980. Pours a very nice hazy coppery orange colour with a big frothy creamy head that drops slowly to leave a film and strong lacing. Beautifully sweet, full, autumny fruits on the nose... plums, apricots, peaches, toffee, but also strong notes of caramel and honey, orange marmalade and jam, a bit floral even, and spicy, and after the first sip some alcohol comes out as well. Taste is very much caramelly yet not overly sweet, with those marmalade- or jammy autumn fruits in the background, and a lingering alcoholic warmth covering it all in the finish, with a little bit of spiciness and a whisky-like note. No bitterness to talk of. On the palate itís very nice and velvety, body is rather full, carbonation below average. Overall a good-looking, malt-driven, sweet, boozy yet easy-drinking sipper. Not sure if I need to finish all the 50 cl but I sure as hell will.

P.S. - Itís getting too boozy after Iíve slowly downed about half of it... Lowering it from 3.9 to 3.7.

500ml bottle. #57,008. Mid amber shade, forms a nice big head. Aroma seems sleepy to awaken. Gingery spice, malty in a syrupy, caramel, medicinal way. Lightest of dark fruit notes. Seems to be a little oxidised already, which surprised me. Taste is caramel and orange peel. Nice, but a little uncomplicated. Either this needs more time or just isnít going to ever be interesting enough for me.

Amber-brown with a very slight head and aromas of toffee caramel and spice, reminiscent of a solid Tripel. Palate is rich and lightly peppery, with notes of honeyed marmalade and single malt whisky. Drying finish, with more spice hints and a light bitterness. But bottle no. 129,333 out of 125,000 produced - how does that work?!

Bottle received as a gift. Thanks Nagy! Bottle number 114634. Poured into snifter glass. Very attractive looking pour...deep amber/orange color and a frothy beige head. Slight cloudy look. Aroma of dark fruit...plum and raisins with a hint of toffee and caramel. Gives off a boozy impression on the nose. Taste isnít as overpowering and impressive as I was expecting. Definitely the warming alcohol feeling. Mostly sweet with hops not entering the equation. Malt throughout. Boozy finish. Iím not really finding a significant difference between this one and 2011. Good but only need to have it once.
