COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, Released August 2012.

The 2012 Vintage Ale, our 16th, is brewed with three of this year’s finest hop varieties including, Goldings, award winning Sovereign and Target hops. These combined with our unique yeast and organic barley grown by Sir James Fuller on the Neston Park Estate result in a wonderful limited edition brew that has a luxurious flavour.

Individually packed and numbered, this bottle is one of only one hundred and twenty five thousand produced

Although we are obliged to state a best before date of 2015, like a fine wine or whisky, this mellow golden ale will improve with age for many more years

Being bottle conditioned, the beer will form a natural sediment, so pour carefully, sit back, and enjoy this, the very finest of Fuller’s ales.

Bottle numbered with #02587 from Vika enjoyed at home
Deep copper red, thin tanned head. Smells of fruity yeast esters, spices, malts and hints of hops. Heavy sweet, quite malty, fruity flavors, berries and some yeast. Moderate bitter finish. A quite excuisite brew. Just amazing how fruity and malty this is; all in harmony. Smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation

Bottle #43556 Pours a hazy orange/copper. Aroma is strong toffee and overripe apricot & raspberry. Taste is caramel, sticky dried fruit, spices. Mild carbonation. A pleasure <in my penile region>.

Clear pale brown colour with thin but well maintained head. Aroma is quite fruity and sweet. The flavour also has fruitiness such as some bitter orange peel. The general mix of bittersweet fruit and light spice is pleasant and with the warmth of alcohol becomes rich. Very dry finish.

Bottle 90878. Excellent English Strong Ale! Caramel, yeast and alcohol in aroma. Some mold and cellar feel to the pour. Dark orange, slightly cloudy pour with medium thick white head. First sip hits you with roasted malt, caramel and again alcohol. Second sip tells you a bit more about complexity - some sweetness of toffee and marzipan, burnt caramel and a heavy hoppy bitterness *(partially due to density and abv). It has medium body, velvety texture and soft fizz. Body should improve over the years a lot. If we talk strong ale - this is the best example. you should get several bottles/boxes and drink it over the years.

Shared with Antoine & Seabass. Wonderfully packaged in a box – amazing packaging, feels special & the bottle assures me that my bottle was part of a limited edition of only 125.000 bottles wow – that is probably more bottles than quite a few Belgian breweries make per year. Bottle nr. 40634. Pours a light caramel, amber orange, creamy, light off-white head, only around the sides bit odd for a beer of only an ABV of 8.5 well maybe that is a lot for traditional British beers. Smell is light caramel, toffee, orange, touch fruit, light nectar, ligher British hops,… Tastes like Turkish delight / Lokum, wow, that one is new, honey, British malt, lightly sticky, light British hops, toffee, caramel, dried fruits, touch nectar, nectar,… Light carb. body is way lighter than hopped for still okay. Had a lot higher hopes for this one – feared first that this might be too young but do not feel like this will go up a lot with age. Bit of a downer although certainly not per se bad. Still would be interesting to see maybe back in a few years.

50cl bottle courtesy of and shared with 77 ships.

Bottle at home from fullers old fishmarket
Pours hazy deep ruby amber with fluffy cream head. Christmas cake nose, rasins and marzipan. Fairly well carbonated body, candied peel then plenty of sweet malt and some yeast esters, perhaps some higher alcohols too, needs a few years.

Bottle, bought @ LIVA, Kolding. Pours clear amber with a small, staying, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has nice caramel, red currants, grass, mild pine. Medium to low carbonation, fine dry and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, caramel maltiness, grass, red berries, mild vinious. Lingering, nice bitterness. Good.

500ml bottle from Alko

Pours dark orange with a small head. Aroma of sweetish caramely malts, toffee, hints of malts and grassy hops. Taste is malty, syrupy, sweetish and mildly fruity with caramel. Finish is malty and sweetish with some caramel. Okay, quite balanced English Strong Ale.
