COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, Released August 2012.

The 2012 Vintage Ale, our 16th, is brewed with three of this yearís finest hop varieties including, Goldings, award winning Sovereign and Target hops. These combined with our unique yeast and organic barley grown by Sir James Fuller on the Neston Park Estate result in a wonderful limited edition brew that has a luxurious flavour.

Individually packed and numbered, this bottle is one of only one hundred and twenty five thousand produced

Although we are obliged to state a best before date of 2015, like a fine wine or whisky, this mellow golden ale will improve with age for many more years

Being bottle conditioned, the beer will form a natural sediment, so pour carefully, sit back, and enjoy this, the very finest of Fullerís ales.

I love the yearly vintage ale offerings and this is certainly one of the best. Just a little bit nutty in a good way.

Bottled, 0.50l. Hazy amber orange color with large creamy tan-like head and good lacing. Aroma of herbal hops, dried fruits, caramel malt, vanilla and alcohol. Taste start with rich sweet caramel malt, nuts and strong alcohol, following is fresh fruity with spicy mouthfeel and ling bitter finish and long malty aftertaste. Full body, thick texture and average natural carbonation in palate. I like these series...

500mL LCBO bottle, #41279. Iím continuing with my yearly tradition of rating this one way too early while itís still rather green. Pours a clearish golden amber with a large beige head. Looks quite nice. The aroma is a fantastic blend of British hops and a deep, rich malt character laying underneath, biscuity, caramalt, toffee, citrus, marmalade. Flavour is even better with some delicious hop bite upfront (flavour and bittering hops), met with a chewy, rich malt body that is very satisfying. Finishes with ascending malt complexities. Feels somewhat full on the palate, with only a subtle hint of booze. Damn, this yearís vintage is a good one to drink fresh! I could comment on how it may develop, but I really have no idea as Iíve never had a bottle of this that was older than 2.5 years.

Fullerís Vintage Ale 2012 has a thick, soapy, cream-colored head, a somewhat murky, orange-amber appearance, some stray bubbles, and very impressive lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, sharp, full, brown bread and light fruits, and the flavor is the same, with a noticeable, yet not harsh, straight-forward hop bitterness. Moutfeel is rather heavy, and Fullerís Vintage Ale 2012 finishes semi-dry, rich, memorable, and surprisingly smooth. The oddest thing about this beer is that I was told that Fullerís Vintage Ale mellows and smooths out as it ages, yet, this version (only two years old at the time of the review) was smoother and more approachable than the two older iterations. Overall, this beer is a must-try! RJT

No. 122466. 5 for appearance - bottle suitable for homebrew re-use, good label, seal, presentation box. Foggy chestnut brown, khaki head. Superb aroma - sweet caramel, golden raisins, peat, aromatic hops, a little sweaty. The aroma mirrors the flavor - sweetish toffee/caramel, slight mineral tones, tannins, pleasantly bitter, wood. Malty, yeasty, hoppy - what a beer should be. Body is slightly on the heavy side, but the only minor, minor flaw that I could find was that the initial aftertaste went a little vacant at times. Nicely bitter and a little woody in the finish. Sort of a barleywine lite. Excellent. Beer Stop, Tallahassee.

Nro 600 so I hope this is Special. looks promising: bit hazy deep amber, big frothy head is off-white and long and leaves good lacing. Good medium strong aroma is nuanced: caramel, nuts, dark bread, ripe fruits, flowery notes, raisins. Full body, soft and round, mild carbonation, long malty finish, bit sweet and bitter, alcohol bit too evident. Good choice for your beer nro 600: tasty and well done, traditional british Excellence.

Rich amber with no head. Sweet aroma with caramel and pear drops. Feels creamy and sweet at first with fruit cake notes before a smooth bitter finish and nice warming alcohol. Really good.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2013 A nice beer that pours copper in colour and has a 1cm frothy head. The aroma is sweet malt and english hops. The taste is toffee, slight orange and alcohol warmth. The finish is dry. Medium bodied. A nice beer, like a well made bitter than barley wine. Re reviewed 2013 - Orange/red/pink, thick dense head. Aroma is quite low, but smells sugary sweet. The flavour is deep, delicate, banana, pear, toffee, sweet but so drinkable. Short finish however. A well balanced beer that is a great example of what age can do.

Nice "beer colour" brown-amber, generous head. Pretty clear. Aroma is a lovely buttery malt with that strong barley wine character. Flavour is very nice... Thick and rich and malty with a little burn. Tremendously good.

Bottle in presentation box. Hazy honey sunset with a quickly fading offwhite fluff. Nose is peach, with a slight "cognac", a little banana and some nice malt overtones. In the mouth, itís a joy. Warm banana-leaf maltiness, a cacophony of fruits from tangerine, through to peach, and boiled plums. Thereís a slight alcohol burn, but its sweet and has a taste like cognac. A real sipping treat and Iím looking forward to letting my other bottle age for a few years before diving in again.
