ekstedt (5484) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 23, 2013
Bottle (50 cl) from Systembolaget. Clear amber, medium off-white head. Brady, caramelly and fruity aroma, perhaps a touch of alcohol, some floral hops. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Semi dry with medium bitterness. Not the best vintage, and may need some time to reach its full potential.

   AROMA 8/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 8/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 15/20
Marstonlad (437) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 23, 2013
Cask at Gallows Bird, Espoo. Appearance is dark copper with a medium-sized dense head on top. Aroma is malty with swees notes in the forefront; it has caramel, toffee, dried fruitiness and berries. Taste is very sweet and very malty. Being a real ale from a cask, the smooth, full and flat palate is what’s initially noticeable. Dried fruitiness, caramel and berries feature in the rich taste. Bittersweet finish. This is maybe slightly too sweet but displays still well the good sides of a real ale.
