Clear copper red beer, big fizzy aery white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, caramel, some tangerines, sugary, pretty sweet. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity hops, citrus, grapefruit, some caramel, little bitter, orange peel, nice bitter hops. Aftertaste: caramel, some sweetness, sugary, bitter, some citrus, bit spicy. Young but very promising.

Part of a vertical comparison, many thanks to M & L V.!. Small tan head; orange-amber beer. Sweet, banana, caramel and toffee. Liqueurish flavours, caramel in force, parsley and lots of alcohol. Finish is utterly sweet, on the edge of cloying. Slick, alcoholic, viscous. Probably too young for such a powerful ale, might be better in a couple of years.

Wonderful, really wonderful piwo. Look of bottle and beer are beautiful but that doesnít matter. What matters is that warm welcome of fruits, caramel, grapes and bit sugar you get. A deep piwo you can easily compary to a dark, sweetish and heavy wine. Wonderful.

Bottle, #034778, at Kick. It pours s small, light beige head over a mostly clear looking Amber colored body. The aroma is quite fruity, dried fruits mostly but also some plums and ripe pears. Almost meaty malts, toffee and prunes, and piney hops. Some alcohol. Thereís a little warmth in the mouth, itís full bodied and soft on the palate. A nice bitterness deals with the malty sweetness and dried fruits. A little meaty touch on the flavor too. Cellar is mentioned around the table, I agree with that. Warming, sweet finish with a nice bitterness. Pretty pleasant this one, bet itís even better in a year or three. 140111

Pours out of the bottle in a deep amber-ruby colour with steady, lasting head and smooth body. Wonderful aroma of hops and caramel-nuts. Taste of ripe yet smooth hops, light malt, gentle flowers, straw, nuts, torf and mild fruits such as apples. Sweet-torfish finish. A really nice beer.

500ml bottle from LCBO. Nice vibrant and clear copper with a slight beige head. Slightly roasted malts, fruity but muted, bit of toffee, moderate hops but very little bitterness. Moderate body and mild carbonation, hops mute the sweetness a bit on the palate but this is still fairly sweet, not much booze, very easy to drink and enjoyable.

Bottle 110949.<\i>Dark orange color with a medium head. Strong biscuity grain aroma with a fair floral hop hit. Lots of grain flavor. Light fruit and yeast. Moderately bitter. Some honey. Full body.

One bottle in the cellar, which will hopefully survive until my sonís 21st birthday in 2034.

pours unclear medium dark golden orange with a nice off-white head, some retention and lacing. spicy lightly toasted malts, caramel and barley sugar, some toffee, nice fruity notes - berries, citrus, oranges, marmelade-ish, booze - brandy quality, grassy coniferous - hint of pine, floral, bit of earthy notes. moderate carbonation, light to medium body - very oily, thick, moderate sweetness, bold but smooth grassy-spicy-peppery finish. nice and complex but nothing spectacular either.

UPDATED: MAY 15, 2014 Deep gold with a slight white head and little carbonation. This was tried alongside the 2007 and 2008 versions and came out on top. A touch of caramel, some pleasant fresh hops and a moderately bitter finish. Avoided the heavy, yeasty barley sugar notes of the other two. Enjoyable.
