500ml bottle No. 086939 from Fullers online shop, rated 21Sep13. Pours a clear copper orange-amber colour, bubbly beige head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of malt, nutty & fruity. Taste is malty, some caramel, sweet dark fruity with a warming bitterness and earthy & alcohol notes. Slick oily mouthfeel, medium to full bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish. Quite drinkable.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2013 One third pint poured from cask at the Fuller’s Bar, Great British Beer Festival 2013 on the first day. A slight haze to a dark amber coloured body. A beige ring to the rim of the glass. Rather restrained aromas of earthy malts and herbal hops. Prominent taste of fruit cake with ingredients of different dried fruits, caramel, dark leaves, berries and warming alcohol. Bittersweet tail. Full bodied. Smooth, oily textured. A bit sherry-like. Very nice and it’s supposed to get even better in a few years’ time (London Olympia 13.08.2013).

Third of a pint of tap at the Great British Beer Festival 2013. Clear copper red-orange, short-lived head. Nice fruity aroma. Dry, bitter, smooth with a fair bit of body. Doesn’t have the sparkle of previous vintages’ however. A touch vinous, fruity, pleasant.

Beese (1923) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 16, 2013
Cask at the Great British Beer Festival 2013. Poured a hazy dark ruby colour with a thin off white head. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel and a slightly sharp unripe fruit note. Flavours of dates, raisons, figs and molasses. Leaves with toffee, burnt sugar and some pine. Not bad, but it seems a bit of a shame to waste some of this by dispensing it too young in a cask.

Pours light amber with a large foamy head that settles fairly quickly. Aroma is caramel, figs, malt, honey, hay. Taste is caramel, honey, orange zest, hay, slight boozy notes. Not the best vintage, but still good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Meaningless drinking beer. Dull taste and smell. Thin aftertaste. This beer I do not understand that you can drink. I feel bad just to drink this beer. YIKES! Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

SamTheBarrel (461) - Vallentuna, SWEDEN - SEP 4, 2013
UPDATED: SEP 10, 2013 500ml 2013 vintage bottle, pours cloudy dark amber with a medium beige head. Aroma of apricots, maple syrup, raisins, plums and herbs. Taste is similar to the aroma, strong and complex also with some sweetness and a hint of liquorice, possibly dark muscovado sugar. Warming as it is high on alcohol, however you can’t taste or smell it. Medium body with thick creamy texture and low carbonation. The beer also comes in a very appealing presentation-box and bottle. Very pleasant and luxurious to sip, like a glass of fine cognac.

Cask at GBB ’13, 15/08/13. Lightly hazed dark amber with a verythin off white head. Nose is dark fruit mash, light caramel, sugars, figs, raisens. Taste comprises raisens, caramelised sugars, dark fruits, fruit loaf, figs, dates. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, dry finish with a touch of booze. Drinkable stuff but you can tell it’s not quite ready yet, a little unrefined and raw around the edges, revisit in 5 years time!
