Wild River is a double-hopped pale ale, inspired by some of the finest craft brewers from the USA, bursting with citrus hop flavours. Brewed to 4.5% ABV, the beer uses some of the best known hop varieties from the West Coast of the US — Liberty, Willamette, Cascade and Chinook.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks beerandbeyond. Clear golden. Aroma of cardboard, stale hops and some butter. Sweetish flavor with graininess, malt, a bit of cardboard, a bit of diacetyl and a finish with bitter stale hops, a bit harsh. Medium-bodied.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2014 Nice golden colour with thinish head looks lager ish.aroma is citrus truit and malt. Taste to follow with strong lingering bitterness. Bit too much for me but some balance with the malt body, decent brew for the style. Quite rereshing .

50cl bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden with a fluffy white head which dissipates quite quickly. Nose - toffee and cereal. Taste - more toffee and cereal some candy and lemon on the finish. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry but rich finish. Overall - it’s a fairly simple beer but it would very balanced.

Well, at least Fullers are trying to hop up - not aggressively enough though - a pale imitation of west coast US APA - thin bodied as 4.5% would suggest - but a good balance between biscuit malt and herbal/fruity hops - just needs MORE (esp hops) - I guess they want to appeal to the mass market of non-hop heads and not scare away their core ’best bitter’ drinkers.

A very thin head follows the distinctly lager looking beer. The taste couldnt be different though. Its a hop explosion in your mouth. A fantastic pale ale with a slight bitter twinge.

BOTTLE 50CL. Look: clear golden with a white frothy head with poor retention. Aroma: some hops, sweetish creme brulee like notes, malt sweetness, metallic, some late toffee. Taste: light sweetness, moderate bitter and spicy finish.

The „double hopped” and „craft inspired” slogan on the label are a bit of an overstatement.

500ml bottle. Pours clear, light orange with no head. Aroma is of citrus and hops. Really nice citrussy taste. Hoppy, slightly sweet finish.

Bottle at home. Pale golden with white head. Citrus and grapefruit notes. Crisp and clean - but from something flagged as double hopped I was expecting a bit more. Nice summer ale I think.

This Fuller's bottled beer is well-made and very well-balanced. The golden colour contrasts with a compact white head. The initial aroma is fruity - apples and lemons - and the taste has a powerful citrus flavour dominated by grapefruit. Nice hoppy finish. Very fresh-tasting, but a little light in taste.
