Cask at Sonning, 14th June 2013. Nice bitter, good old fashioned pint. Hops come through, not bad

Cask at Old Joint Stock; light amber pour with thin white head, citrus hop aroma with a hint of pine, citrus taste slightly zesty with a decent amount of malt, clean and crisp tasting.

Cask conditioned at The Bear, Oxford. Gold with white head. Fresh, fruity light beer, despite the abv, there are hints of pineapple and grapefruit, if sweetish, within the hops, there is a light crisp body, perhaps lacks a little depth but a pretty decent beer.

On tap, rated from backlog. Hazy pale golden with white head. Aroma of malt and lots of grapefruit hop notes. Taste is pale malty and very bitter with lots of fruit.

Tap at the Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is weak hop floral. The flavour is medium hoppy bitter with some malt and citrus fruit on the palate. It might be double hopped but I’m not sure their hop choice was the best.

Cold bottle. Clear light yellow with no head at all - looks like a cheap lager…thankfully it doesn’t taste like one. Cheesy musty smell. Taste follows the smell, but there are also some good hoppy characteristics that would be decent enough in a more malty beer. Marmalade, slight smokiness. It’s strange how they’ve made this taste like a traditional British IPA using just American hops. That’s a skill in itself I guess.

Half pint on tap at the Ship in Wokingham. Slightly opaque yellow/gold colour with a fair bubbly head. Nice grapefruit hopped aroma. Very bitter, fruity and dry. A bit too much so. Leaves you feeling thirsty - cunning ploy when there are other Fullers beers usually found in the same place?

Real ale. Mild aroma has citrus, bit tropical fruits. Malt stays under this. Bit cloudy honey to copper, nice dense head is one finger and long and good lacing. Bitter slightly and fruity sweet, soft round fuller’s body, soft carbonation, creamy soft very good palate, nice soft finish, nuts. Looks good, smells nice, is velvety soft and full and leaves me wanting for more while still satisfied.

GBBF. Light haze on this gold beer, little white head. Light dry palate. Insipid hops - bit of marmalade. Light dry finish. Terrible use of these US hops. You are better than this Fullers - sort it ahhhhhht!
