COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We break craft beer convention by unabashedly brewing beer with corn. El Toro is a lager-like classic American cream ale brewed with malted barley, hops, yeast, water…and Carolina roasted corn grits. Sometimes you just want a “beer beer.”

This draft brew from the brewery poured a head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a softly carbonated transparent yellow colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was malt hop. The crisp and clean mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mild hoppy aftertaste. The mild flavor contained notes of mild hops grass crisp && clean and malt. An OK brew just nothing special.

On tap at Fullsteam, Toro City. Pale yellow pour, moderately undercarbonated but still fairly lively looking. Soft nose with some grain, very faint dry hops. Taste is stays medium, not in the Jim Zorn way but in an understated quaffer way. Decent for a style that’s not just underwhelming for the most part but entirely forgettable. The least ostentatious of Fullsteam’s offerings so far, but a good session brew.

TURDFERGUSON (3581) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - AUG 2, 2010
The last beer I tried of the just released fullsteam lineup. Never been a big fan, or maybe I just don’t "get" cream ales. I think I’d rather just have the Carolina roasted corn grits separate from my beer. This tasted like a sweeter pale lager and was very difficult to drink. Sweet corn, sugar, bleh. I don’t much care for this one.

Pours a translucent clean yellow with a one finger frothy white head. Nose is vegetal and grassy, corn, some hay, mildly sweet, strange aroma. Flavor shows corn and hay, vegetal, not digging it. Palate is soft with a low carbonation.

Growler, pours a totally clear honey yellow with zero head. Aroma of wet malts, a little chewable vitamin, bread. Flavor is lightly sweet, a little apple, a little honey. Watery finish.

Light hazy lively pour. Gold and bright frothy white head. Aroma of corn and grassy hops. Easy Summer drinking beer. Boring style yes, but still a decent stab at the style

On tap at the brewery. This is pretty much beer at its simplest, and this is the strength of this beer. Clear yellow pour... not much to look at really. Thinnish white head. Nose show sweet corn, super mild grassy hops, some grain. Tastes similar. Usually anytime I use "corn" in a description of a beer, it’s a bad sign. In this case, it works out just fine. This is no stunner, but it’s great in its simplicity, especially on a hot summer day.
