COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The very first batch of beer we brewed on our 15-barrel brewhouse. Itís a rustic farmhouse beer finished with a healthy dose of Coon Rock Farm basil. Like the sweet potato beer, donít anticipate being hit over the head with basil (though we will have some basil bunches to do that if youíd like). Instead, expect a balanced, refreshing country ale with just a touch of fresh basil on the finish. Try it with panzanella, local cheeses, or just quafff it in a mason jar on the front porch.

Great flavored beer. Itís sweet wheat and earthy basil taste confuses the palate leading to the only conclusion to be made. Great Beer!

On tap at the brewpub. Cloudy golden pour with frothy carb and decent retention. Very pungent basil nose, which - despite the commercial description - is a bit head-clubbing. Pretty decent farmhouse ale as the base beer, nice and dry with a bit of spice to it. The basil complements it pretty well but is too present. As is, good stuff but Iíll look forward to trying it again in the hopes that itís even more balanced.

Cloudy yellow gold color at pour, almost non-existent head. Aroma of clove, basil, lots of lemon. Flavor was very light and kind of watery which was surprising. Basil flavor developed more with each sip.

Draft at the brewery. Looks like an extremely cloudy hefeweizen, and stays cloudy even after settling. It smells pretty similar to a lot of Belgian wits with banana, yeast, and hay. The basil is faintly present. At first, it tasted like a spicy version of a hefeweizen, but after a couple sips I noticed the lingering basil flavor and a distinctive basil aroma in my nose. Really unusual brew as I donít recall having anything with this much basil flavor. Good stuff.

at City Beverage Durham. ok aroma, tart. Clove, basil, lemon. Cloudy yellow gold color, Ok head. Little to no lace. Sweet and sour flavor. Lite body, creamy smooth body, bitter dry finish, left me with a little soapy streak. Kind of grew on me as I sipped, basil was stronger than I remember at debut event. Aroma was favorite part, buy a small margin.

On tap at the brewery. Okay, wow, this is a bright light yellow beer thatís not letting any light through. Looks a bit intimidatingly thick. Nose show lemon, basil, yeast, and wheat. Almost like a wit meets a saison. Nice but nothing special. The basil is thankfully relatively mild. Tastes like it smells for the most part, but with a bit more of the wheatiness. Not bad at all.

Pours a very cloudy/muddy yellow with thin wisps of white head. First thing that needs to be fixed on this is the appearance, once it has any degree of clarity and some head/head retention itíll be a nice looking beer. Nose is a bit minty/basily, some lemon zest and yeast esters, mildly spicy. Flavor is a tad thin, zesty, notes of basil and mint, mild leafy feel, lemony, mildly yeasty. Palate shows a low carbonation and bitterness.

Pours super super cloudy with a small head. Looks homebrewish. Nose is better with some lemongrass, basil, citrus, earth. Flavor is similar but when combined tastes a little messy and muddled. Missing a crispness on the end that I love in a well made farmhouse/ saison. Not a bad effort, but it can and hopefully will be much better.

On draught at Bruisiní Ales Teaser Tasting. Pours cloudy with a diminished sudsy head. A huge bouquet on this one! Nice, of saison and farmhouse grains and multiple herbs. Lots of clove and basil flavors, with a sweet and spicy finish, almost numbing via the cloves. On the palate, itís a very easy quaff with a smooth mouthfeel, round body and subtle carbonation. Very tasty!
