COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fulton War and Peace is a Russian Imperial Stout conditioned with whole bean Peace Coffee in the fermentation tank. It’s an epic work of beer, but unlike the novel, this beer is brief and fleeting, appearing just once a year in February. Historic quantities of chocolate malt and roast barley clash over a field of dark roast Peace Coffee beans. Like Tolstoy’s masterpiece, it may take some time to finish and require some thought along the way. But by the end, we think you’ll find yourself better for the effort.

Pours a dark, oily, brown-black with tawny head. Aroma of fruit, chocolate, coffee. Flavor is quite sweet, with pronounced coffee up front. Anise and dark fruit and quite a noticeable booziness. It’s a good stout and a nice winter beer.

Bottle generously shared by the Tampa Crew. Pours a dark stout brown with an off-white head. Nose is earth, espresso, licorice, and black coffee. Flavor is similar with roast, earth, espresso, licorice, and black coffee. Light to medium in body and a nice stout overall, albeit a dry one.

Pours basically black with a small head that leaves spotty lacing on the glass.

The aroma is coffee & chocolate with some very light hoppiness. It’s sweet smelling, aromatic... really inviting and enjoyable.

The beer is a touch boozy, it’s got some good dark chocolate, it’s plenty bitter with lots of coffee and some espresso. Kinda sweet in a nice way...

750 ml bottle shared at Kentucky Brunch Release (Decorah, IA). Pours a deep dark opaque blackish hue, a frothy tannish head dies to a frothy film, laces ok. Aromas are stark coffee, toast, roast. Some mellow dark cocoa, toffee, and roast. Some vanilla, gentle oak, the spirit doesn’t show up much. Initial is thicker but not full, good rich coffee, roast and toast. Touches of toffee, toast, espresso. Middle is big coffee, java, some oak. Really nice rich coffee presence, cocoa and dark cocoa is mellow. Backend is roasty, big coffee, mellow oak. A faint waft of spirit. Pretty inviting for coffee lovers, touch of spice and heat as we finish up. Cocoa, some thickness, vanilla and a touch tannic. Cocoa, whiskey, rich espresso finish. A really well put together beer. Mellow oak, could use a touch more barrel element but the coffee is rich and the experience is synergenic. Tasty.

Bottle @ Crooked Stave ROY-G-BIV Day. Pour is deep brown with a small tan head and good lacing. Big roast, cocoa, green coffee, oak, bread, and somewhat earthy aroma. Taste is dark fruits, caramelly, brown sugar, light cocoa, coffee, and wood with a light bitter finish. Sticky mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Very tasty and well-balanced, hard to believe it is 10%.
