COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fulton War and Peace is a Russian Imperial Stout conditioned with whole bean Peace Coffee in the fermentation tank. It’s an epic work of beer, but unlike the novel, this beer is brief and fleeting, appearing just once a year in February. Historic quantities of chocolate malt and roast barley clash over a field of dark roast Peace Coffee beans. Like Tolstoy’s masterpiece, it may take some time to finish and require some thought along the way. But by the end, we think you’ll find yourself better for the effort.

From bottle, courtesy of Joe N. Nice coffee aroma, rich and malty with molasses, chocolate, roasted barley, and sweet alcohol vapors. Dark black opaque with tan lacing head. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation. Starts and stays sweet, rich with coffee, chocolate, cherry wood, roasted barley, and alcohol - fusel but not rough. Bitter nutty finish with lingering sweetness. Alcohol warming with light bitter after.

The coffee in this is very well balanced, and actually could be a little more forward for my taste. Very smooth, easy drinking, with a rich, rounded profile and a somewhat less-than-over-the-top palate. (on tap at the Muddy Pig, St. Paul, MN)

Pours basically black with a small head that leaves spotty lacing on the glass.

The aroma is coffee & chocolate with some very light hoppiness. It’s sweet smelling, aromatic... really inviting and enjoyable.

The beer is a touch boozy, it’s got some good dark chocolate, it’s plenty bitter with lots of coffee and some espresso. Kinda sweet in a nice way...

Bottle @ Crooked Stave ROY-G-BIV Day. Pour is deep brown with a small tan head and good lacing. Big roast, cocoa, green coffee, oak, bread, and somewhat earthy aroma. Taste is dark fruits, caramelly, brown sugar, light cocoa, coffee, and wood with a light bitter finish. Sticky mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Very tasty and well-balanced, hard to believe it is 10%.

Bottle @ THT May, courtesy of Benzai. Pours a pitch black beer with a small beige head on top. Aroma of coffee mostly, some dark spices, cinnamon and black pepper. Licorice, molasses are also present. Flavor is fairly bitter, loads of bitter chocolate, coffee. Big dry sweet touches. Long bitter chocolatey aftertaste! Amazing surprise!

This wasn’t for me. I appreciate what went into this hence the higher score but this is all about the coffee. This smells and tastes like someone put coffee beans and alcohol into a blender and hit the on button. Very earthy and all coffee. Almost salty on the finish. No thanks.

Bottle from AV3, pours a nice dark coffee color with a super thin head. Aroma is a lot of coffee roast, some chocolate, and some sweet malt. Taste is some malt, dark roast coffee, decent hop bitter, good offering from Fulton. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle poured a black in color with a coating of brown head that fell away. Aroma has coffee, mild chocolate, alcohol, and dark malts. Mouth feel is hefty with slow carbonation. Flavor is heavy on the malts, big black coffee, plenty of roast, and dark chocolate. It has an oat like thickness and the coffee is super amped up.
