Insurrection’s flavor profile is spearheaded by Nelson Sauvin and Mosaic hops added at a rate of nearly 4 pounds per barrel. Both hops are new breeds, and they combine to overwhelm the senses with an onslaught of citrus, white grape, and blueberry notes. An equally aggressive malt bill provides serious backbone and an ABV of just under 9%

12oz bottle. Pours a golden-Amber color. Aroma of fruity hops, orange, and pine. Tastes very balanced with a solid bitterness backing the sweet and dry finish. Flavors of orange, pine, citrusy hops, grape nuts, and pepper.

12oz bottle into tulip. Minneapolis. Pours amber/copper in color. Generous offwhite head with excellent retention and lacing. Aroma is citrus, and floral. Grapefruit, Orange peel, a lot of the usual suspects. Flavor is malty and sweet upfront, transitioning into a bitter finish. Mouthfeel is full for the style. Fair texture. Average carbonation. Medium length finish. Generally an enjoyable double ipa. Superior taste and appearance.

Tap pour into tulip glass at Nomad with commonshawn. Coppery color with a full finger of froth that clings well to the glass. Little bit of hop on the nose but with a funky aspect going on. Very cloying mouthfeel. Taste has some burnt sugar elements mixing with a hop heavy presence. Grapefruit rinds. Not as sweet overall as other double IPAs. Aftertaste leaves a little to be desired. I would sample again but I do feel slightly disappointed this didn’t impress more.

Tap at nomad in tulip with commonmac. Copper with thick white head and good lacing. 1.5 finger head. Off Hop heavy aroma. Super hoppy and drying cloying throughout. Big tastes, but dominated by hop and pine alcohol. Not as sweet as most dipas. Bitter Grapefruit rind. Wanted some more subtlety and balance. My tongue and taste buds were definitely taken over by this one .

My first sniff, I thought it smelled like natural gas, but a second whiff confirmed it was much more cat pee-ish (which isn’t going to grab a lot of non-IPA’ers, but is really telling). This is a really good imperial/double IPA, with a big combo of mingled tropical fruit and bitter hop flavors. Pours a clear copper, with little by way of head, but what a feast of flavors. Well-balanced with the malt so it’s not too sweet, not too bitter. Easily the standout beer I’ve tried from Fulton. Will definitely need to get some more.

From bottle. Pours a clear orange/copper hue with an off-white head with ale great lacing. Wonderful aroma of grapefruit and tropical fruit, caramel, pine. Taste of tropical fruit, grapefruit, piney, dank, blueberry, white grape juice, bitter and malt backbone sneaks in the there really well. Medium mouthfeel with light to medium carbonation. Finishes dank, dry and bitter kick with some heat but not on the tongue but on the palate more so. I really like this one and would like it even if the bitterness on the finishes was mellowed down a bit. Probably my favorite beer from Fulton. Nice work Johnnies! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tropical citrus aroma. Beautiful copper color with whitish head. Taste is piney tropical fruit and spice. Really clean and crisp. Very nice. One of the better DIPA’s I’ve tasted. Nice work Fulton.
