3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ibrew2or3 (4967) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JUN 1, 2012
Pours murky dirty brown orange juice (I must have upset the yeast cake) with off white to tan head. The aroma comes across with some subtle smooth smoke notes as well as bits of yeasty spices and peach and apricot esteriness. The taste has smooth approachable smokiness that is certainly there but doesn’t knock you over with a greasy smoked pound of bacon. Behind the smoke are mild notes of yeasty tartness and yeasty spices that create a synergy with the smoke. This somehow attains crisp and sessionable qualities and ends with the addition of a light amount of light skinned fruity ester like notes. Good stuff. Good call Sebastian.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 fiulijn (10421) - Como, ITALY - SEP 8, 2011
Bottle from Beer Planet, Brussels, as La Fumette Cloudy orange-amber color, with a large head, and nice lace. The aroma is original and very nice, mixing a delicate smoke with more classic elegant Belgian yeast; there is also a light acidity. Lean body, smooth mouthfeel; the underlying beer is simple, the smoke flavor is delicate but nice, but the light sourness is out of place. The final is weaker and drier. A good step, but can be improved.
