A new, milder version from the Toernichoise Fumée, which was deemed to be a bit over the top, smokewise.

Amber, hazy, off-white head. nose: malt, smoaked to even peated. earthy, vegetables. bit wierd, but all ok. taste: smoked ham, bit caramel, malts, of course, but lacks a bit of punch. overall, okey try, but the whole is not what it should be. Inject an average beer with some smokey fumes? Nice for trying but does not pass the test (for me)

Bière au goût de saucisson fumé que je n’ai personnellement pas apprécié malgré le fait qu’elle soit réalisée dans une brasserie qui produit des bières de qualité.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2014 Wintery, softer version of the Tournichoise Fumée (though the latter is apparently considered an alias of this one here), with loose, off-white head and pinkish orange amber colour. Aroma of apricot, sulphur (like striking a match), bitter honey, grassy hops, nutmeg, sweat. Neutral onset, dried fruits, malty, light but unmistakable smokiness in the finish along with a rather pleasant hop bitterness.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübs bernsteinfarbens Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch rauchig, röstmalzig, Karamell. Geschack leicht rauchig, Karamell, fruchig, würzig.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber to brown with nice white head. Aroma is smoke, candy, malt. Flavor is sweet, candy, smoke, malt, hint of grassy hops perhaps. It’s a pity for the overwhelming sweetness, it would be very nice if it was toned down a bit.

Takie srednio dobre piwo. Malo akcentow dymno wedzonych. Delikatne karmelowe i slodowe. Bardzo metne i brazowe ze spora i calkiem trwala piana. Ale ladny wyglad nie przejawia sie we smaku. Owszem smaczne ale nie to co oczekiwalem po tym stylu.

Shared a 33cl bottle from Cora (Foetz). Pours a hazy light brown colour with a white head. Aroma is smoked, malty and earthy. Average frizzy carbonation and medium body. Taste is more bitter than sweet with smoke notes. Long dry and smoked finish. Overall, a very drinkable beer.

Bottle found at Cora. Compared to the only Rauchbier I’ve tasted so far the nose is much more discreet. Tastewise it’s quite similar as far as I remember, very nice to go with the duck I had cooked. If it stays in the shelf of the local supermarket, a worthy alternative to the Schlenkerla which is not easily available in Luxemburg.
