Cask at Victoria Hotel, Beeston, Nottingham. Very dark brown with a cream coloured head. Faint sweet malt aroma. Smooth, oily sourness with some background sweetness. Some bitterness. Quite good.

Cask at Newcastle Arms, Newcastle. Dark black pour, decent head. Malty and bitter flavours, not too strong on the burnt taste. Quite surprising belgian-like sweetness. Fairly decent overall if not spectacular.
