COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our version of a light session beer. This beer is a showcase for Pilsner malt and Saphir hops. The result is a beer with a crisp clean almost lager-like flavor. Easy to drink and goes down smooth.

Summer 2011 - A saison, but a session beer? A saison, but lager like? Iím like, 2 minutes in the door of my first visit at Funkwerks and already my brain is finding it hard to cope with what Iím seeing and feeling. After Iíve managed to stumble over to a nice seat outside to take in the sunset, weíre served our samplers, and at the start is the Funkwerks Casper. I look down and see a thick white head, dimpled with foamy geology, and a hazy yellow body. Just as the brewery described, I smell a nice, clean pilsner malt aroma, and even a touch of sulfur. The flavor is extremely light, and after a day of sampling beers all over the city itís hard to tease out the subtle notes. The Casper just barely kisses the palate, but grants it a long, pils aftertaste. Iíve never had anything like it, but Iím intrigued. I also see a glass of this lasting a long, long time which might indeed make it an eminent session beer.

BeerBunker (709) - Burbank, Illinois, USA - MAR 21, 2012
On tap at Cheeky Monk in Denver. Pours a hazy orange color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is of wheat, apricot, assorted fruit, and malt. Taste is of wheat, and a lot more of the apricot. Has a decent flavor of grassy hops. Long lingering apricot taste. Not sure why thereís so much apricot in this one. Very carbonated and insanely fizzy. Has a slight tartness to it. Good beer, and very easy to drink. Definitely a session beer.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with a clear yellow body and a voracious, white head. Aromas are grassy, funk, peppery, ginger, grassy, malty, bready and phenolic/spicy. Flavors are lightly tarty, pretty subdued yeast character, ginger, bready, orange, somewhat crisp. Lightly grassy. Tasty. Lively bubbles and dry as always! Absolutely excellent session beer (despite my rating numbers, this would be a beer Iíd want to drink every day)!
