Poured from bottle to snifter. Dark copper red hue with tan creamy head. Aroma is roasted malt, biscuit, caramel, figs, ethanol, raisins, vanilla, huge tobacco, prunes. Mouthfeel is nice with medium body and zesty carbonation. Taste is sweet initially with a slight astringent following and an ethanol finish. Overall this is a great brew.

chinchill (1614) - South Carolina, USA - APR 7, 2014
Hazy dark red amber with an excellent head. Strange aroma is tart, fruity (including apricot) and mildly acerbic. Flavor largely follows and is also mildly tart, but with a balance of bitter and sweet as well. A lot going on but not completely integrated or balanced. Medium body and carbonation.

Aroma of vanilla and bourbon. Appearance is dark red no head no lacing. Taste is vanilla, oak, some caramel. Its the palate where this beer is a little lacking. The beer isn’t thick enough but then it’s not a stout. Overall it’s a good drink.
