This light-hued beer was inspired by Belgian Tripels and Golden Strong ales. A high percentage of Pilsner malt and a new yeast strain we used present a lemon character in the aroma. This citrus quality carries into the flavor and finishes with a slight tartness. This beer is well balanced and smooth, making it easy to drink and sightly deceptive because of its high ABV.

This beer has a cloudy yellow color and lemon and wheat aroma. My buddy picked up a hint of marshmallow but i think he is crazy. Flavor has a citrus flavor with the same wheat flavor. Paired with mozzarella salad.

A nice golden ale overall, not especially unique but smooth and tasty. Pours an ugly yellow with a white head. Smells of lemon and marshmallow. Taste is smooth with some orange, lemon and more marshmallow. Paired with mozzarella and tomato salad, the whole flavor profile is accentuated. Had in the bottle.

Deceit is a great name for an easy-drinking brew with a high alcohol content. With its clean malts, bright yeast, medium carbonation, and lively hop note, itíd be easy to overlook Deceitís 8.5% ABV. Taste reveals pear, tart apple, lemon, and some spice. Deceit is the sweetest kind of lie. Another great Belgian-style brew from Funkwerks.

Bottle/Fest. A- Light fruits, lemons. A- Yellow color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Light, fruity, wheat, subtle sourness. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, crisp finish. O- Lighter than used to for the style. Quite refreshing but not all that exciting.

That there is an American brewery capable of producing a decent triple is very sweet news indeed. This one is cloudy and blond w/ a creamy head. There is a slight note of surfer in the nose which is not unpleasant combined w/ the strong banana note that is also there. This gives just the faintest impression of tartness and has a mild earthy bitterness in the finish. Itís creamy in texture w/ moderate carbonation. This isnít my favorite by the brewery but is still really good, esp. for the style.

Golden in color, nice thick white head, smells of Pilsner malt, no strong hop aroma, smooth, a little sweeter than most goldens not as carbonated. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from 12 oz bottle into tulip glass. Appearance: pours a thick 2+" white head that drops slowly with a great deal of lacing. Color is light orange with lots of sediment in suspension and tons of streaming carbonation. Aroma: sweet, yeasty bread, coriander, floral Mouthfeel: medium body, prickly carbonation followed by astringency on the tongue and throat. Flavor: sweet bread, banana, coriander, cinnamon, a bit of raisin, a definite lingering bitterness as the hops move from an initial floral to a finish of citrus rind. Overall: well done, with an interesting balance between the sweet, spicy and bitter flavors
