This light-hued beer was inspired by Belgian Tripels and Golden Strong ales. A high percentage of Pilsner malt and a new yeast strain we used present a lemon character in the aroma. This citrus quality carries into the flavor and finishes with a slight tartness. This beer is well balanced and smooth, making it easy to drink and sightly deceptive because of its high ABV.

Bottle/Fest. A- Light fruits, lemons. A- Yellow color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Light, fruity, wheat, subtle sourness. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, crisp finish. O- Lighter than used to for the style. Quite refreshing but not all that exciting.

That there is an American brewery capable of producing a decent triple is very sweet news indeed. This one is cloudy and blond w/ a creamy head. There is a slight note of surfer in the nose which is not unpleasant combined w/ the strong banana note that is also there. This gives just the faintest impression of tartness and has a mild earthy bitterness in the finish. Itís creamy in texture w/ moderate carbonation. This isnít my favorite by the brewery but is still really good, esp. for the style.

Golden in color, nice thick white head, smells of Pilsner malt, no strong hop aroma, smooth, a little sweeter than most goldens not as carbonated. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Phenol forward and clove. Peppery. Hazy light yellow. Creamy white head. Taste is creamy with some vanilla and soft fruitiness. Taste is less phenol forward. Light pineapple. Good.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into tulip glass. Appearance: pours a thick 2+" white head that drops slowly with a great deal of lacing. Color is light orange with lots of sediment in suspension and tons of streaming carbonation. Aroma: sweet, yeasty bread, coriander, floral Mouthfeel: medium body, prickly carbonation followed by astringency on the tongue and throat. Flavor: sweet bread, banana, coriander, cinnamon, a bit of raisin, a definite lingering bitterness as the hops move from an initial floral to a finish of citrus rind. Overall: well done, with an interesting balance between the sweet, spicy and bitter flavors

One of my favorites from Funkwerks. Deliciously dry and crisp. A delightful example of the style. Brewed in the same style as Duvel and it shows!

Golden in color. Aromas of pineapple and pear. Delicious Belgian esters, without being too malty and sweet. Great Belgian-Style Golden ale! Deceitfully powerful ;)

Bottle shared at Butlerís with Chris and Craig. Thanks so much, Craig. Pours a light yellow. Aroma is yeasty, some bubblegum. Some malt. Flavor follows, but falls flat a bit. Mild carbonation. Good beer.

Pours cloudy straw-golden into the glass, almost reminiscent of grapefruit juice, with a stiff fizzy head that dissipates to ring lacing. The nose is of yeasty esters, light sourdough, some barnyard and dank basement aromas, alongside a hint of ripe melon. Flavors of lemon, melon, light doughy notes, crackers and a hint of pepper finish with a combination of well-balanced tartness and lemon-pepper spice. The mouthfeel is almost like a carbonated juice, which helps the complexity and substance achieve an easy quaff to the palate. It hides the ABV superbly, which lends perfectly to its name, íDeceití, as this is easy-drinking, but doesnít feel nearly as heavy as the ABV may suggest. Great for any time of day, as an afternoon sipper, an aperitif or nightcap. Really nice, in my opinion. Great brew!

Aroma is spices, pale malts and hints of earth and white bread. The flavor is spices, citrus, pale malts and a mix of alcohol and slight liquor in the finish.
