This light-hued beer was inspired by Belgian Tripels and Golden Strong ales. A high percentage of Pilsner malt and a new yeast strain we used present a lemon character in the aroma. This citrus quality carries into the flavor and finishes with a slight tartness. This beer is well balanced and smooth, making it easy to drink and sightly deceptive because of its high ABV.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a large white head. Aroma of Belgian candied sugar, bubblegum sweetness, some funk, banana and some doughy malts. Flavour brings out candied sugar, banana, medium funk, loads of doughy malts, a little yeast, and light fruitiness. Very complex and light/ soft on the palate, with a subtle complexity. Highly drinkable, without any ABV noticeable. Great stuff.

Bottle shared at CBC - Clerkenwell, London - big thanks to Jack. Pours lightly hazy yellow with a fine, white cream head. Mild citrus fruit nose, some doughy malts, lemon and tangerines. Mig sweet flavor with some yeasty white bread and ripe citrus. Full bodied average to heavy, creamy carbonation. Warming finish with more doughy white bread, yeast. Big beer with a fairly sweet character, though still very drinkable.

Bottle split with a few friends. The pour’s deep gold with a large white head. The nose is spice, esters, some banana, biscuit, and bubblegum sweetness. The taste is banana nut bread, candy corn, earthy husk, some tart pear juice and ribbon candy. Slightly chalky yeast. Light finish, soft palate. Smooth drinking considering the weight on this. Overall, a nice tipple! Colorado’s producing some great stuff right now.

750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy straw amber with a big creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet malts and banana with straw and yeast.

The flavor is sweet soapy belgian malts and banana with some earthy yeast and a dry, almost plasticky, finish. There’s a bit of warming alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with a lot of spritzy carbonation.

Overall, an OK Belgian with some off-notes.

The pour is a hazy, golden color with a full, white, creamy head which settles to a thin, pillowy layer and leaves some Belgian lace. The nose is pleasantly spicy, lightly woody, nice lemony esters, light herbs (rosemary), and some light sweet rolls. The flavor is similar with a growing peppery note, lemon still adding tartness, similar herbal and sweet roll notes, light candi sugar underneath, and some bread; the bitterness is moderate and the acidity is moderately high. The palate is seemingly moderately full, warming, creamy, lively, and round. The finsh is warm with pepper, creamy bready notes, a mildly astringent acidity of lemon, and still some herbal. Actually a nice tripel BSGA hybrid type beer with nice spice and herbal complexity but an acidity that was overwhelming to the beer style at time. Maybe a bit of time would calm the spice and allow the tartness to just add to the beer. Decent beer but not as easy to drink as they (or I) would have thought.
