The appearance is spot with a chocolate look with touches of dark fruit. I didnt really get the aroma I was anticipating, a tasty brew but that has a strong presence of red wine on the palette.

Crimson. Dark and hazy, with little head. Aroma is tart cherry, caramel, green apple and light balsamic vinegar. Flavor displays more sweet/tart apples -- like Fuji or Honeycrisp -- plus sweet cherries, bread crust and a subtle barnyard funk. Smooth, creamy medium body with a hint of heat.

Lots going on with this beer. Dark appearance, some surprisingly roasty notes, but with a nice amount of the slightly sour character. Tried at the brewery with the parents in 2013.

Tap at Funkwerks - turbid pour, burgundy in color - nose of brown sugar, cinnamon, raisin, red wine, oak, earthy/dusty yeast - low carbonation - flavor is actuallg medium sweet, with just a light twangy acidity to it - flavors of raisin, nuttiness, grape skins, moderate oak - a leathery funk is developing around the edges - finish is dry, with a lot of red wine character - alcohol is completely masked - pretty nice, really.

On tap @ Funkwerks. Pours a bit murky dark reddish brown appearance with a light brown head. Red wine, pretty funky, tart dark berry, caramel, a bit acetic aroma. Nice body. Fair amount of cookie, toffee, light vinegar, tart cherry flavor. I wasn’t a big fan of Son of Nothing, the non barrel aged version of this beer but enjoying the funky notes of this quite a bit.

On tap at the mayor. Pours a dark brownish red, minimal head. Aroma is tart and fruity, really nice. Flavor is earthy and somewhat tart, not bad.

Dark brownish red pour with thin white head on tap at the brewery, collab with mayor. Aroma brought vinegar, oak, slight chocolate, nice tart red fruits, nice. Taste falls flat, grassy, earthy notes with a hint of chocolate, cocoa bean, hints of coffee, oak, finishing spicy, slightly sweet.
