draft. sweet tomato, onion and ketchup (WTF) notes in the nose. harsh, green, raw and leafy hop aroma present as well with some mild dishsoap. buzzing acid and moderately strong hop bitterness across the middle, but soft and silky up front with good support, not too sweet, but tends to be more grassy and starchy than I’d prefer. it’s that earthy / spicy character from the hops used, along with a semi-sour orange marmalade component. all-together not as nice as the regular Tropic King and a bit too husky, gritty and earthy.

Tap @ brewery. Pours a yellow-orange appearance with a white head. Somewhat fruity, floral hoppy aroma that’s not as tropical fruity as Tropic King which was kind of weird considering the Rakau hops was the main reason behind the tropic fruit notes.. I, myself, do not get Hot Dog condiment notes in the nose. Again, fairly spicy yeasty flavor with some tropical fruitiness and a sweet maltiness. Overall pretty tasty but not superior to Tropic King.
