Tap at Rackhouse in south Denver September 2012-Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. nose is wack!!! spice, yeast fruity pretty lovely acutally. i didnt know this had apricots in it when drinking it. Flavors are very tart and lite grains. hmm doesnt really match the nose. very thin body detracts a bit from the overall enjoyment of this beer. however, that makes this very session-able for the lovely ladies out there that like fruit beers. Cool beer and glad i got to try it.

My least favorite of the Funkwerks lineup. Aroma was unpleasantly sour - like overripe and slightly rotten apricots or grapefruit so ripe they’ve fallen from the tree. Flavor is overly acidic and sour with no balance - dry and fruity in the extreme without any balancing malty or sweet character. Too one-sided, even for a sour style.

Bottle at Dadtoberfest 2012 courtesy of Max. Pours a hazy golden body with thin white lacing. Aroma is funky, fruit, dust, spice. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of yeast, spice, funky fruit, toasted caramel malts and light fruit.

Poured from a bomber into a cute little flute glass. It is a cloudy, pale yellow with a ultra thin and bubbly white head. Smells first of funky/barnyard then of spices- pepper and cinnamon?, hard to say- then a citrusy scent. The taste is a new combination for me. There is a slightly tart front, pepper, light fruit taste and a great, highly carbonated palate. For some reason I want to say there is cinnamon in this brew but I’m not sure. Maybe it is the ginger they mention in the description.

Bottle. Cloudy blonde color with a large white head. Lot of pepper, grains of paradise, and slight fruit character in the aroma. Trying this next to the High West Campfire whiskey is a bit strange, though. Taste is potpourri heavy, some lemon, ginger, and a great spice character from the grains. Light bodied, and maybe a touch thin. Still, pretty nice.

Bottle poured a cloudy blonde hue w/ large white frothy head diminishes to a nice thin cap and some lacing. Nice big aromas of pepper, earth, pineapple and citrus. Flavor is an initial light sweet and finishes with a light sour. Taste is lemon, ginger, leather, and apricot. Light bodied, dry texture, and lively carbonation. Has a thin mouthfeel.

UPDATED: DEC 19, 2012 Bottle... Hazy yellow ale with a mid-sized, wispy, white head. Great retention. The aroma furnishes lemon with subtle undertones of barnyard funk and spicy farmhouse yeast. Light to medium-bodied with airy carbonation. The flavor is mildly acidic and citrusy, but is a touch too sweet to really wrap my lips around. Finishes crisp and refreshing at first, then cracker malt sweetness lingers and nearly ruins the entire experience for me. More time in the bottle may improve this one... or not. Bottle courtesy of biggsbowler!

Bottle courtesy of adnielsen. Thanks bro! Pours a clear yellow with big white head. Grainy, fruity, tart, peppery aromas. Ginger, pepper, fruity flavors. Interesting beer, a lot going on in this one. But it doesn’t do it for me.
