COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our goal at Funkwerks is to make good beer for our customers. Our intention was not to disrespect the Māori people or their culture in naming our Māori King beer. Out of respect, we are re-branding this beer as Tropic King. This is our new Imperial Saison! Bursting with a lot of fruity tropical characteristics of passionfruit, mango, and peach from the New Zealand Rakau hops we used. Combined with the pepper and Ginger flavors produced by our house yeast, this is a flavor extravaganza.

Capped 750 from LetsPour.com. Pours translucent gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is earthy/spicy multiple fruits. Full bodied. Flavor is earthy/spicy multiple fruits. I’d say it’s much more tropical fruit than anything else. Fruit wise. The rest is earthy, approaching barnyard. Love the ginger notes. Finishing so complex that I will not attempt the details. Lovely, lovely, ale.

A: The pour is a pale yellow color with a rather large white head. S: A bit sweeter than expected. Lots of different citrus notes, especially citrus peel. There is a mild grass note followed by some white pepper and a light fruitiness of apple and pear. T: Starts off with the sweet fruit flavors of apple, pear, and banana. There is still some white pepper and a fair amount of sweet citrus/orange. Overall, it’s fairly sweet, but there is a light phenolic spice note to the finish. M: Medium to full in body with medium carbonation. O: Didn’t like this one anywhere near as much as the regular saison, but still quite drinkable.
