COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Belgian-Style Ale
Inspired by the sessionable German Berliner Weisse, we followed tradition and allowed the wort to mature overnight with lactobacillus. The next day it was boiled and transferred to the fermentor where we added a Belgian wheat yeast strain famous for fruity flavors and a dry finish. The result is a highly carbonated and refreshingly tart summer beer with a citrusy pineapple aroma. These aromas carry through in to the flavor leading to a dry but tart finish. This unfiltered ale is best consumed fresh- it will not continue to sour with age and is not recommended for cellaring.

Thanks to NielsenRatings for sending this one along. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is light bread, light fruity yeast, some lemon, spice, and citrus. Flavor starts with some citrus and bread then some fruity yeast, then some mild lactic bite, finished with some lingering fruit. Light to medium in body and pretty nice overall.

Poured a cloudy yellow color with aromas of yeast, banana, some light funk and wheat. Flavors are the same interesting. First funk works beer decent.

I was hoping for a little more funkiness, but this follows the mild Berliner Weisse, perhaps with a bit more body and tartness. Picked this up at the brewery with the parents in 2013.

Draft at the falling rock. Pours clear amber gold with a thin, fizzy white head. Tastes sweet, like caramel, like lemony citrus, and coriander spice. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like creamy, musky, lemony citrus.

Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy yellow pour with thin white head, aroma brought slight corn, grass, hints of vanilla in there with a touch of lemon, hints of corn note as well, itís decent but itís fairly mild. Taste is a mix of slight lemon but mostly bready, doughy notes, into some slight vanilla, touch of yeasty, finishing fairly dry.

Had on tap at The Mayor Of Old Town. Pours like a wheat beer, cloudy, straw. The aroma is spicy, clove, fruity banana. There is very little tartness. This is a terrible Berliner Weisse. Not a bad beer, but not the style it says it is.

Hazy straw color, two fingers of snowy whhite head, tight small bubbles. Nose has some wheat, malt, spicy yeast, hint (almost imperceptable) of tart. Tastes like a well done wit bier. Wheat and malt working well, a bit a citrus zest, not getting the lacto as much as I would like. Well carbonated and dry as a bone, easy to drink. Overall, I went into this beer expecting more Berliner and less wit, unfortunately the lacto didnít come through and left me wanting something with a bit more bite. It is a refreshing beer that I will buy more of, just not when I want a Berliner Weiss.
