This delicious creation was truly a product of creativity, ingenuity, and luck. Last summer, we took a test batch of our Berliner Weisse style summer ale, Provincial, that didnít quite hit gravity, and decided to have some fun with it! We added a heavy dose of raspberries in this sessionable, refreshingly tart beer. The end result was so delicious we decided to recreate it! This delightfully tart beer is stimulating and refreshing, with a citrusy raspberry aroma which transitions to a subtly sweet and tart finish.

On tap @ Funkwerks. Milky pink colored beer with white foam. Sort of a mix of raspberry and sort of a funky guava note, too. A lot of tropical fruits, in fact. Mildly spicy and grassy. Sort of a grapefruit zest quality, too. Pretty damn good.

This stuff looks just about like pink grapefruit juice w/ a small white ring of bubbles for a head. It has a vaguely fruity nose, maybe kind of a cherry skin thing going on, w/ some spicy yeast and a hint of sulfur which is not unpleasant in this context. The raspberries really pop when you taste it. Itís lightly sweet and a bit jammy with a full-boded creamy texture. This is a pretty darn good fruit beer overall.

Bottle. Pours hazy pink with light pink head. Nose is sour raspberry. Taste is citrus and raspberry. Refreshing.

First try of the newly released 11.2oz, 4 pack bottles. Pours a really pretty, hazy, watermelon color. Smells a bit tart, raspberry leaf, lemon some hints of yeast. Just like it says it is tart and refreshing. Not full on sour by any means. Raspberry is fairly mild and adds to the tartness and the dry finish. Solid.

750 ml. bottle. Bottled 07/22/2015. Pours a medium, rapidly dissipating, off white head, over a hazy, pinkish (SRM 8) body......nose is light lactic acid, raspberry, sour cherry, citrus notes, light base malts, no esters, no hops......taste is moderately, lactic acid sour, with light tartness, raspberry, wheat, base malts, no hops no esters......mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, carbonation high making an almost creamy sensation. This is a light, refreshing, Sour Beer. It really isnít a Berliner Weisse because of the added fruit used in its creation. BJCP 8/3/16/5/8

Draft. Nose is super awesome and fruity raspberry and cherry skins. Light funkiness compliments it well. Taste is fruity as well but the mouthfeel is flat and watery. Decent.

I didnít get much berliner from this one. Just barely a hint of tart, sweet raspberries, overbearing fruity yeast with a heavier body. Wasnít off, just wasnít a tart lightl beer.

Pours a cloudy pink into the glass, with a light head that reduces to sparse webbed lacing. The nose is of sour citrus and unripened berries. Flavors are huge of grapefruit, lactobacillus, light brett and sour raspberries. Sour through and through, light in the mouth with appropriate carbonation, this is a very nice example of the Berliner style, which is not an easy, nor widespread style to find. Great job again Funksters!

A delicious tart, raspberry beer perfect for summer. Compares well to Belgiums but with more lemon. But the raspberry is prominent from nose and eyes to the pallet. Finishes with a bit of tannin which begs for another sip.
