COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer you are holding is unique. A special strain of yeast and a warm fermentation produces a beer of exceptional flavor and aroma. An extended secondary maturation and bottle conditioning ensures all these unique qualities are preserved and evolve over time. Serve at 50°F in a tulip glass.

What to expect
This tawny orange beer pours with a rocky white head. Aromas of passion fruit, tangerine, and black pepper hit the nose. Flavor is a cascade of orange, lemon verbena, ginger and pepper. And in a second it is gone, finishing with a dry and lingering bitterness that awaits another sip.

Cellaring Information
Store upright in a dark dry place at cellar temperature (ideally at 50 degree). Cellar limit is 2 years.

Bottled at BrewDog, Stockholm. Hazy amber, mid sized head. Citrus and coriander up front. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Fruity with peppery citrus and coriander. Low-medium bitterness. Doesn’t really lift.

750ml bottle, cellar aged approx. 8 months. Wonderful aroma of tropical fruit, peppery spice, herbal and floral tones, along with suggestions of lemon, vanilla sweetness, crackery, biscuity malts, leafy, green hop and some faint clove and honey in the background. Thoroughly hazy medium golden in color with a lasting, rocky, voluminous white head and gobs of lacing. Flavor profile is full of yeast spice, citric fruit, green, grassy, herbal hop, showing some melon, orange and peppery qualities before the dry, refreshing, lightly bitter finish. Highly effervescent and active mouthfeel, almost prickly and very drying indeed with a medium-full body. Enjoyable rendition of the style.

Thanks to buffalohead for sharing with me this very nice saison. It might have been a little past its prime but it was still a world class release with only a touch of funk. The total experience is one that shows you do not need to go to extremes to make something that stands out.

Aroma / Appearance - A bubbly clean head is a clear white. Underneath a strong flow of carbonation releases waves of starch, hay, and grasses. Light lemons add some needed depth. Without being overbearing it makes itself known.

Flavor / Palate - Fresh yeast tickles the tongue before settling on the back of the throat. Starchy, hay, and dryer sheets come along for the ride. A little different take on the saison style this lives up to the funk part of the brand. Hopefully they are around for the long haul and not just a flash in the pan.

Bottle received in trade. Thank you Adnielsen! Pours very hazy reddish golden with an absolutely huge frothy white head that leaves some sticky and soapy lacing and trace on the glass. Smell is fruity and slightly phenolic with crackers, pink grapefruit juice, lychee, dry soil, hay, white grapes, lemon zest, dry wood, white pepper corns and hints of band aids. Taste is bitter, slightly phenolic, fruity and tiny herbal with crackers, grapefruit juice, moist grass, white pepper corns, lychee, lemon zest, dry soil, grape skins, lemon balm, dry wood and hints of bandaids. Mouthfeel is sparkling, soft, dry, slightly round and medium bodied. Finish is bitter, tiny fruity, herbal and tiny phenolic with crackers, lemon balm, moist grass, sweet basil, dry soil, dry wood and white and black pepper corns. A treat that I wish I had cracked open much earlier.

This is a nicely made saison. Would be more of an american since I don’t get that barnyard belgian yeast character nearly as much as others in its class. Solid and fun to drink, but not top in its class.

Bottle:   Bright straw, vibrant white head, foamy, nice lacing.   Prickly apple skin, straw, and dusty notes on the nose.   Also floral, soft, fairly sweet.   Smells pretty tasty!   Basement funk, straw, dull floral, and light apple skin notes on the tongue.   Pretty tasty.   Does seem a bit mealy, moreso than most Belgians, but less than most other American examples.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Light dryness, a touch chalky.   Clean, a bit funky, and moreso fruity than floral.   Good example.   Thanks Kevin!

750ml bottle thanks to arminjewell sent as an extra, thanks man! My wife has been asking to open this one for the last weeks since we had it, happy wife = happy life, pours a light hazy orange, almost really dark yellow with a thick white head and, lots of lacing in the glass, aroma is tart, quite a bit of fruit, just a little bit of barnyard mixed in, the flavor has a nice fruity front end with a dry finish, a little bit of yeast and barnyard as well, really crisp and refreshing though, a pleasure to drink.
