The beer you are holding is unique. A special strain of yeast and a warm fermentation produces a beer of exceptional flavor and aroma. An extended secondary maturation and bottle conditioning ensures all these unique qualities are preserved and evolve over time. Serve at 50°F in a tulip glass.

What to expect
This tawny orange beer pours with a rocky white head. Aromas of passion fruit, tangerine, and black pepper hit the nose. Flavor is a cascade of orange, lemon verbena, ginger and pepper. And in a second it is gone, finishing with a dry and lingering bitterness that awaits another sip.

From notes. Tasted at a tasting at Curtis’s old house, probably around early 2012, from a 750mL bottle. Pours clear, bright yellow/orange with a thick white head that slowly recedes to average, sticky lace. The nose is spicy saison yeast with a hint of sweet banana and a touch of green hops. The flavor is is more or less the same with a very pleasant hops and spicy saison yeast bitterness, very easy to drink. The body is just under medium with lively carbonation and a spicy yeast and nicely bitter finish.

Very straight forward Saison. Doesn’t have the quality or character of a Fantome or Dupont. If this is their top offering I see no need to delve further in to their line up. Solid beer, but there are many, many better examples.

Tap at Imazato. Big sweet fruity, peachy nose, with some honey notes. Dark amber/straw color. Thick sweet peach, moderate bittering. The bittering seems a bit much for this style. Medium body. Tasty, but overall a bit too heavy and sweet -- not cloying exactly, but a bit much.

Tap at Imazato. Deep gold, hazy, with lace. Nose of peaches, grains, light citrus. Grainy flavor, lemon / grapefruit, light funk. Sweet and a bit heavy and thick. Not so impressive.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a clear gold with very little head that dissipates almost instantly. Light lemon and floral-forward nose with some bubblegum upon opening. Light farmhouse notes as it warms up. Medium to low carbonation. Light yogurty tartness with lemon zest and meringue towards the finish. Finish is a tad boozy, but nice tartness, without being sour. Decent.

On tap at Angel’s Trumpet Ale House, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out some rustic farmhouse notes, citrus and biscuity malt. Flavour is complex, with lots of rustic farmhouse notes, citrus and Belgian yeast. Not a totally authentic saison, but better than most, that’s for sure. Complex and well-constructed. Excellent.

Cloudy gold pour, thin white head. Nose is a basket of tropical fruit. Middle is more of the same, with some herbs in there too. Finish is semisweet and a little tangy.

Bottle. Pours clear golden orange, large off white head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma of dusty, grassy, honey, Belgian spice, black pepper, oranges. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, dusty and peppery with a noticeable fruitiness. Light body, high carbonation. Interesting.

On Draught
Pours a hazy yellow color with a big head & nice lacing on the glass.

Aroma is fruity with some peach & banana. Lightly spicy with a bunch of wet rocks.

The flavor is a touch sweet for my liking, but it’s nicely bitter with some earthy minerality, some orange and peach like hoppiness, a rather intrusive spicy element & a reasonably controlled banana element.
