3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jcr (1946) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - SEP 25, 2011Bottle. Hazy deep golden body. Huge frothy, pillowy white head, mostly lasting. Big spicy aroma of clove, pepper, earth, herbs, sweet cotton candy. Hints of orange and banana. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. The initial sweetness is washed away by tastes of clove, pepper, soap and lemon. Just a hint of basement and banana in the taste. The aroma is better than the flavor which seems overspiced. Dry, but not as dry as classic saisons. Good beer.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Bacterial (410) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Yum! Draft at the brewery. Slightly hazy golden yellow pour. Funky fruity and a hint of citrus in the nose and again in the taste - very nice!

Straight forward saison that had nothing special about it. Grassy, light in taste. Cloudy body. Heavily carbonated. Nothing wrong but would like it to be a bit dryer.

750 ml bottle shared by DrSilverworm. Pours a mostly clear golden color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma is fruity citrus, herbal, light funk, pale malts with a dry grassy character. The flavor has much of the same characteristics; citrus, grass, funk, dry malts with a mild honey sweetness. Solid, but not spectacular.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 RABinVA (680) - Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA - APR 2, 2013
Bottle from adnielsen! Tasted this at the brewery before but didn’t rate, so glad to have this chance! Poured into a tulip. Hazy golden head with a huge pillow of white head. Little bit of sheeting. Aroma is tart and sweet with a good dose of pepper and a bit of funk. Taste is pepper, orange, tart. Finishes slightly puckering and dry. Lasting tropical flavors.

This poured a murky yellow color with a white head. Aroma was spicey, peppery, and light grains. Flavor was similar, light tart and spicey, grassy but a bit bland and similar to a lot of others in the style.

From a 75 cl bottle shared in Breckenridge CO. Pours a hazy gold with a massive snow white head. Lemon notes in the nose. Bread dough, lemon and orange zest and peppery note. Quite nice.

Golden with white head. Aroma is a bit funky. Taste is bland, a bit tart, a bit funky, but not that tasty. Not impressed.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Doofgoblin (125) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 1, 2013
This is awesome! Aroma is citrus, floral, hint of banana with some yeast notes as well. It’s a cloudy golden pour with a white head that doesn’t linger but clings to the glass. Taste is awesome. Fruity, yeasty, smooth and sweet with some slight sour funk notes. It really matures on your palate. The strange sour funk"ness" is what makes this taste so interesting. It’s refreshing and complex at the same time. Love it.

Clear straw pour. Estery barnyard yeast aromas which continue thru the taste. Ends reasonably clean and dry. Not my favorite, but very on-style for a saison.
