On draft at Churchkey during DC Beer Week. Pours a clear dark cola brown with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate after dinner mints. Flavors of apple strudel with chocolate mint ice cream. Intriguing and tasty.

Aroma is foul and sulfury, rank, with some light booze and spice notes. Translucent brown color. Flavor is so much better...toffee, caramel, spices - cinnamon, light apple notes, bready, sweet.

Bottle. Fucking horrible baby diaper nose. Thankfully the taste is much better. Cocoa and chocolate. Meh.

Bomber to snifter. Thanks Matt. Apples and cinnamon. Touch of heat. Reminds me of the fresh apple cinnamon donuts I get at the apple farm. Itís a bit thin, but it is a brown, and impressive that it doesnít pick up too much barrel like many thin beers do. Really good stuff.

Generously shared by Adam at the Swamp Head release. Thanks! Pours brown with a little khaki head on top. Aroma of cinnamon, booze, nuts, and apples. Flavor follows closely with sweet apple pie filling, some vanilla, some brandy booze, definite cinnamon and apple here, and some nuttiness. It is sweet, but somehow not way overly sweet and relatively balanced out by the spices. Medium plus plus body for a brown ale with medium carbonation. Good stuff. I wish I hadnít had a bad experience (sick) with apple pie a few years ago, otherwise I would be head over heels for this.

Poured straight from the barrel at the Buddha. Brown pour with no real head. Incredible cinnamon apple and brandy bouquet. Lots of sweet apple, cinnamon, brown sugar, vanilla, and caramel malts. Brandy undercurrents. Good body, very good mouthfeel.

Draft... This beer benches 350!... Pours black with a mid-sized, creamy, beige head. Good retention. The aroma is a gooey swirl of molten caramel, baked apples, cinnamon and vanilla. Full-bodied and slick with tingly carbonation. The flavor is a sweet, boozy mess of apple brandy, spice rack goodness and almond extract. Finishes with savory notes of graham and malic acid. Iím not a big apple pie or apple brandy fan, but this is a really nice beer. This barrel-aged version is a touch better than the non barrel-aged version. A "sweet, sticky mess" is not always a bad thing! I present caramel corn, pecan pie, ice cream, apple pie and three smokiní hot $10,000/night Vegas hookers drenched in honey as examples of this universal fact.
