3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hand bottle… Murky, dark brown ale with a very small, fat-bubbled, off-white head. The aroma is a medley of oak and toasted pistachios amidst gentle notes of brandy and vanilla. Full-bodied and oily with only a trace of carbonation. Leans toward the sweet side of balance, but only by a hair. Not a whole lot going on, flavor-wise, really. Unflawed, seamless and quite malty, but bland. Lots of dissonance between the fantastic nose and mundane flavor. Short, watery finish. Bottle courtesy of hankchinaski!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Buddha grand opening. Pours a near black. Nose is some definite brandy and wine like notes with some strong chocolate following. Flavor is very light roast followed by mellow milk chocolate and a creamy lactose note at the end. Very solid milk porter (which you don’t see to many of ).

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap for the grand opening. Again, much like the Piiti porter in appearance, but with the subtle hint of brandy and bourbon in the nose. I thought that the flavors would be a lot more complex with the addition to the brandy barrels, which it was to a degree, but nothing too dramatic or over the top, which was actually quite pleasing.
