A malty red ale that pops with pleasantly fruity undertones, chock full of whole raspberries and just enough habanero peppers to create a pleasant tingle in your throat. You’ve got sweet, fruity, caramel-y, spicy all in one package - it’s like jam for your jelly, baby.

Pours ruby/garnet in color. Has an off white head with low retention. Smells of sweet raspberries. Initial taste is very raspberry forward and fairly sweet. There is definitely a hint of peppers hiding behind the sweetness. Finishes crisp and refreshing with a slow warming that builds the more you drink.

Draft... Pours clear, dark and ruby with a small, wispy, off-white head. The nose is watered down, but does furnish a truckload of fresh raspberries. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with stinging carbonation. The flavor is fruity, loaded with raspberries, mildly tart and full of toasty malts. No habanero flavor, but the heat kicks in during the lengthy, warming finish. Yeah. Fire in the freakin’ hole. My tongue, throat and belly feel the heat. Very nice.

Draft, a cool experiment that worked well, good spicy flavors, fruit beer background, but I enjoy sweet and spicy food

On tap at Redlight Redlight. Beautiful deep red pour with minimal head. Sweet raspberries on the nose with some pepper undertones. The taste is amazing, with huge raspberry flavor up front, followed by some sweet malt that transitions to the habaneros perfectly. Warming sensation on the finish but not overpowering. Excellent.

Tap at Redlight. Reddish brown pour with a thick fluffy off white head. Initial aroma is big peppery burn and after a couple of swirls fruit notes start popping out. Clean smooth slightly sweet malt with big pepper burn on the finish. Pepper is there but not rendering undrinkable. Good.

On tap at the Funky Buddha Brewery. Red-amber body. Excellent clarity; weak head; no lacing. Sweet and hot: probably excellent choice to accompany under-spiced meats and some other foods. Sweet and hot work well together. I kept expecting to tire of this but didn’t. Natural raspberry flavor similar to jam. Moderate heat but limited pepper flavor.

Had at Boca Wine and Food Fest. Pours a reddish raspberry with a small head. Aroma is raspberries, blackberries, hot pepper, and red popcycles. The taste is fruity raspberries, blackberries, subtle habanero, and sweet syrups. I don’t usually like pepper beers but this one is subtle. Light body, easy to drink. Low carb.

The flavors are there, nice raspberry jamminess, really aggressive habanero. Too aggressive. This beer fucking hurts to drink. Way too spicy for me, and I’ve done several ghost pepper challenges. No thanks.

4oz pour at Churchkey DC pours a very murky, ruddy amber with a creamy ring of white head. Nose has a bunch of sriracha and raspberry, some sweet and sour sauce, hot sauce and apples. Flavor is like... sriracha, grapes, apple notes, some roasted red pepper, a little red pepper jelly. Finishes lightly acidic, lightly peppery. Kind of cool.

Draft at Churchkey during DC Craft Beer Week. Poured a clear ruby red color with a small off-white head. Aroma was some raspberries, with some hot pepper skins. Flavor was hot habanero, with some raspberries. Heat comes through, but is pretty enjoyable. Very tasty and more subtle than many chile beers.
