COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
“August in Florida is God’s way of reminding us who’s in charge.” ― Blaize Clement

Unfiltered and refreshing, our German-style wheat beer is full on flavor yet light on the palate. Authentic hefeweizen yeast creates the compelling aromas of bananas, citrus, and cloves, while the all wheat and malt body perfectly captures the brilliance of an orange- and yellow-flecked Florida sunset.

Pairing Suggestions: Mild or sharp goat cheeses, arugula salad with lemon vinaigrette, grilled shrimp, beer-battered onion rings with spicy aioli, whole wheat crust pizza, honey-drizzled baklava.

Keg. Bananas and cloves, lemon zest with a stronger tartness than typical for hefeweizens, citrus fruits. Incredibly refreshing. Thrilled this is rumored to be Funky Buddha’s staple beer when they start bottling.

3 oz pour on draft at the Hilton’s Buena Vista Palace lobby bar. Clear golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of herb, coriander, subtle citrus and banana. Tastes of herb, citrus fruit and peel. Light body with a dry finish.

Fairly pale. Only a slight haze. Not a bad clove and faint banana. Not bad especially in the location.

Clear lemon gold with moderate head and lazy carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel, with banana clove esters then a nice wheat sweetness following. Well balanced for a hefe, which is not usually a style I like. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled at the brewery. Some haze in the white gold beer. A small white layer of foam. Bubblegum aroma with grain and cloves. Some banana and yeast flavors with bubblegum. Sugary malts. Wheat. Light citrus. Pleasant stuff that is one the sweet side.

Oh my...this is a great Weissbier. It's hazy orange, good carbonation. There's some bananas, clove, pepper, orange ... Wow. This is close to my favorite hefe I've ever had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2015 BJCP Category: 10A Weissbier

AROMA: Potent Bavarian yeast esters of banana and clove; wheat imparts bready aroma. Some orange sherbet scent in the background. 11/12

APPEARANCE: Hazy amber/orange, but translucent. Effervescent carbonation visible. Large, white, froth laces and retains well. 3/3

FLAVOR: Moderately strong banana bread flavor throughout (wheat + esters). Clove is prominent as well and imparts a light peppery sensation. Faint orange juice concentrate as it finishes. Hops are used sparingly and complement the natural spicy sensation. Each sip is delicious. 19/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium body with a nice viscosity. Mouthfeel is soft, comfortable and smooth. Effervescent but too thick to be crisp like a lager. Aftertaste is mostly clean with minor banana flavor. Very refreshing and easily quaffed. 5/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Probably the best hefeweizen being made in the USA today and better than many German brews of the style. A near perfect beer. 10/10

TOTAL SCORE: 48/50

Slightly hazy yellow with a fluffy white head. Light bready aroma with some banana and clove. Lightly sweet flavor with a bit of citrus. A bit light but no flaws. I would prefer more body also.

Fruity - banana - nose with a little clove. Cloudy, dark golden pour with thick persistent foam. Dry wheat at first quickly gives way to banana and spice. Medium carbonation with slick mouthfeel. Maltiness around the edges and some citrus too. Maybe some yeast on the end. Certainly a sweet example of a wheat beer.
