3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Route CBC. It pours hazy darkest brown with a small off-white head. The nose is sweet, sticky, creamy, cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup, vanilla and light umami. The taste is sweet, sticky, oily, chocolate, umami/marmite, spicy, cinnamon, light alcohol warmth, lightly charred wood, earth and some creaminess. Medium body and fine carbonation. Definite French Toast mission accomplished. A bit one-dimensional, but enjoyable anyhow.

Bottle at Brian’s tasting. Brown color. Sweet and it actually does taste like French toast. some butter flavor, in a good way that works, maple flavor. Very sweet, and a bit like breakfast in a glass.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark brown pour. Small tan head. Little lacing. Huge maple syrup aroma. Some slight notes of vanilla and caramel. Tastes like french toast and watered down three day old bitter coffee. Way too thin. Way too bitter. And somehow still syrupy sweet. Strange.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Brü Craft. Muddy brown with a wisp. Nose is vanilla custard, maple and cinnamon; spot on. Medium body with a sharp tingle. Taste is burnt sugar, bitter cinnamon, maple and vanilla with an odd grassy, citrus peel finish.

3.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber bottle: Brown as expected with an initially big frothy head that strangely did not produce any lacing. WOW what an aroma, pure up initial French Toast with lovely maple sugar, cinnamon, toast, vanilla, touch of coffee and even a faint whisper of egg. One of two issues I have here is that the bitterness interferes with all that sweetness on the palate, adds a "tinny" metallic note that is unwelcome. Still enough of that French Toast thingy to make it drinkable. Lastly, this should be sticky and gooey on the tongue but alas too carbonated and thin. Ultimately a gimmick that ends up being a letdown once you taste it.

Tap at Oblivion. Deep brown pour. Huge French toast nose, even getting the eggs. Smooth clean malt, cinnamon bread and hint of egg. Awesome.
