Tallahassee, Fl - Proof Brewing Company - on tap - part of the Florida Tap Invitational. Pours a medium dark orange with a sticky off-white white head. Aroma has requisite spruce with a floral hint. Flavor is full of hoppy goodness, with plenty of citrusy bitter grapefruit notes, a dose of nuttiness, some bready cake mix notes. Mouthfeel is thick and rich, Very solid - first from this brewer - impressed.

Nose is piney but not over the top. Slight hop bitterness but not overly so. Moderate hop flavor also piney and slight lemon and grapefruit. Enjoyable IPA.

Balance is the word here. Loads of tropical fruits in the aroma, mostly lime and grapefruit. Nothing overpowering but still very complex. Dark orange with a fluffy head. Nice combo of hops deliver nice fruitiness on the tongue with a long bitter finish which compliments the fresh fruit character. Very well made!

Too much grapefruit for me, dominates the favors, no real depth. Like the name though.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not sure what type of hops are used, but seems like cascade. Not as hoppy as the pale ale I tried from Funky buddah just before this. Sweet, fruity, and floral with a syrupy like palate. Very unexceptional, as has been every beer I’ve had from Funky buddah so far.
