In a veritable sea of India Pale Ales, what does it take to leap out from the rest? To us, the answer is Hop Gun IPA. Lift a pint Ė from first sniff to last sip, our flagship IPA drinks like an ode to hoppy goodness. Galena, Cascade, and Nelson Sauvin hops burst forth with an unmistakably heady aroma. Flavors of grapefruit, honey, melon, and pineapple mingle with a malt body that balances caramel and biscuit character with a pronounced dry finish.

Pairing Suggestions: Washed rind cheeses, chipotle chicken wings, Thai red curry, hoisin-glazed roast duck, Moroccan-spiced lamb chops, fresh-baked cherry pie.

Nose is piney but not over the top. Slight hop bitterness but not overly so. Moderate hop flavor also piney and slight lemon and grapefruit. Enjoyable IPA. ---Rated via intercellular device

12 oz. bottle from smith4498. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized off white head that settles into a creamy film. The aroma has some nice citrus and tropical fruit hops with some sweeter malts present as well. The flavor has some citrus and tropical fruit hops though less than the nose indicated, grass, toasted malts, some caramel, moderate bitterness to the finish, dry, decent enough.

Bottled. The aroma is quite good, bit of bread and yeast. The body is muddy and there quite a thick white head. The taste is sweet and it lacks the kick of a typical ipa. However, the finish is great.

Poured from bottle to glass. Golden hue with thick creamy white head that lingered. Aroma is tropical fruit, papaya, mango, tangerine, pear, caramel. Mouthfeel is nice with a medium body and crisp carbonation. Taste is sweet with a nice hop bitterness extending through the finish. Overall this is a real fun brew!

Itís been a while since Iíve had a true piney, East Coast-style IPA. Funky Buddha Hop Gun IPA is a return to form, mostly, as it has that classic evergreen character as well as a citrus component as well. Itís actually really well-balanced for the style. I appreciate beers like this.

I poured a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. There was no freshness date. This was sent to me by a friend in Florida (thanks, Matt!).

Appearance: Hazy shade of dark orange. Pours to a large, off-white, creamy head which laces and retains exceptionally well.

Smell: Strong pine notes with a hint of vegetal character. Sweet malt is also noticeable.

Taste: The first thing I notice is a classic piney/resiny character often found in more traditional American IPAs. Thereís a lot of malt here as well; strong pale malt with some sweet specialty malt for some caramel notes and perhaps a hint of toast. Increased dry bitterness through the middle with emerging flavors of pineapple and citrus pith. Perhaps a hint of vegetal on the finish, though the hops are quite strong and outshine everything else. This beer doesnít break any new ground, but itís solid enough that it doesnít have to.

Drinkability: This is exactly the mouthfeel and delivery I expect from a 7% ABV IPA. Plenty of flavor from beginning to end with a full-bodied mouthfeel. Not crisp, but not sticky or tepid, either. It does leave a residual aftertaste thatís at first sweet, but then quickly dries out. No alcohol warmth or distraction, though. Ideal beer to stand up to a hearty meal.

Tasted from a 12oz. bottle. It poured a slightly hazy amber hue with a frothy off-white head and minimal spotty lacing. Big hop and sweet fruit aroma, pineapple, mango, and citrus. A bright hopped taste with fruity overtones. A delicious IPA on this last day of my Miami trip.
