4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour from growler, 08/08/2013, thanks to brystmar. Deep black pour, light tan head fades to a ring of lacing around the glass. Unbelievably vivid aroma- maple syrup, toasted waffle cone, sweet dark roasted malts, vanilla and fresh coconut. Taste is toasted coconut, vanilla wafer, light bitter roast. Medium body, very drinkable. The aroma is the star here, really interesting.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Growler with huge thanks to 50belair! I popped the top on this and my first words were - "smells like christmas!" Pours an opaque black with a small tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is coconut, vanilla, chocolate, liquer. Smells like (thanks for the reminder Aaron) a rum ball, which is probably why I thought it smelled like Christmas. Flavor is the same, roasty malts from the porter mixed with those wonderful rum ball flavors. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. What a great specialty beer!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Dark brown color, foam dusting the surface. Aroma as advertised: white chocolate and coconut, plus the usual porter character. Taste is similar. Coconut really comes through. I love it but ymmv.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Growler from 50belair. Thanks!
A: Pours a thick, lightless black with a cappuccino head that foams up before settling into a whisper. Nice legs.
N: Tons of coconut and white chocolate. Some coffee and Dutch cocoa. Mapple syrups, burnt brown sugar, and butterscotch. It takes awhile to get underneath the dominant flavors of the adjuncts, but itís worth the wait.
T: Really well-balanced. Moderate to heavy sweetness. with a solid roasted malt/coffee base and some bitterness to balance it out.
M: Moderate body with a pleasant level of carbonation. Exactly what I want in a porter.
O: Easily the best porter Iíve had, and one Iím thinking about a couple hours afterwards as I transcribe my notes. The base beer comes through and the white chocolate and coconut are used to push it over the edge instead of as masking agents. High kudos from me.

4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUL 29, 2013 Fresh growler. Iím fortunate to have tried this a few times, and Iím glad this recipe scaled well to their new system.
Aroma like whoa: a huge blast of maple syrup, coconut, chocolate, and vanilla erupts immediately after flipping the swingtop. Previous batches Iíve tried didnít have this maple character, and while those aroma were also incredible, I do like the addition. Roasty at the same time; some bitter black coffee remains too. I canít stop smelling my glass; Iíd instantly purchase a bulk supply of Last Snow scented candles if they made them.
Much of this bleeds over into the taste, yet it lacks the magic held by the aroma. Palate is quite good but not mind-blowing the way the aroma is. This is one of the few empties I refuse to wash just so I can drop by for a quick whiff again for the next few days.
Phenomenal; unequaled by 99.5% of the craft brewing industry. Love the Buddha!

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
1 litre swing top growler poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting tanhead. Aromas of coconut, roasted malt, dark chocolate, carmel and coffee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roasted malt, coffee, coconut, dark chocolate, vanilla and light carmel with a smooth dry lingering chocolate coconut finish.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Growler split with buds at Ratmans (thanks very much amigo!) Pours a coffee brown with a thin white head. What a fantastic nose of carmel and brown sugar with waifs of sweet coconut. Taste is amazingly light and flavorful. Loads of soft Almond Joy chewiness with touches of coffee, roasted malts, and vanilla creamer. What a tasty treat. A wonderful blend of coffee, coconut, and chocolate, all in a light bodied for a porter. Delish....
