Draft at the brewery. Pours black with a creamy beige head. Tastes like bitter coffee beans, rich espresso, creamy sweet chocolate. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like roasted coffee beans and chocolate syrup.

Draft at the Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park, FL. Plastic cup (large MBCP release party...no snifters.) Iíve had this beer a million times but never rated it for some reason. So here we go. Pours a black, opaque almost oil with a mocha thin head. The nose is first the coconut and then the dark chocolate, cocoa nibs, vanilla, roasted malts and prunes. The taste is pretty much the same with the coconut not being as defined as in the aroma. But the chocolate and cocoa nibs come through nicely and the finish is chocolate and coconut. Heavy, full body with a creamy mouth feel. Soft finish. Very tasty as always.

On-tap at Hunahpuís Day 2012. Original review 03-13-2012.

Pours darker brown, cream-colored head, thin ring on top. Amazing nose, to say the least. Coconut, coffee beans, chocolate, light roast, expresso, burnt sugars, and vanilla. You just want to hold this up to your nose and breath...yes, that good. Not quite as good as the nose, yet still excellent. Coconut, expresso, roasted coffee beans, vanilla. For 6.5%, it drinks very cream-like, which is really cool. The milk chocolate notes are quite as evident on the palate, yet still very good. Finish is toasted coconut and chocolate roast. Medium body, rich and smooth, light carbonation, creamy finish.

One of my favorites on-tap at Hunahpuís Day. I was left thinking, "what the hell just happened there." Definitely a standout on any tap list, and truthfully, one of the top beers there.

Sample at GABF. Continue the hype train on the one. Damn. Black pour. Smell is chocolate, coffee and big coconut. Flavor is the same but with a bigger sweet coconut component and roast. Its is big coconut, but it is very, very well integrated. Love me some coconut beers and this is top notch.

On tap at GABF 2013, best coconut aroma in a beer, taste is fresh coconut and some nice white chocolate.

On tap @ GABF. Black pour with a tan head. Really crazy coconut aroma. Smells like a mounds candy bar. Sweet chocolate, light roast, and a hint of coffee. Mostly coconut, though. Flavor is chewy, fresh coconut. Some vanilla, chocolate, and even more sweet coconut. Mounds candy bar all the way. Just a touch of roasted malt and coffee.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2014 Draft at GABF. Pour is deep brown - almost black - with a small brown head and great lacing. Huge coconut, bourbon, caramelly, brown sugar, maple, roasty and cocoa aroma. Taste is big coconut and dark chocolate, nutty, woody, coffee beans, earthy, and toffee with a smooth toasty finish. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Really nice stuff and sort-of reminds me of a mounds chocolate bar.

Tap at GABF. Holy crap aroma. Smells like an Almond Joy candy bar with all of the great tastes that go along with it. Smooth and like silk. Coconut and chocolate. Balanced and delicious.

From a growler - nice dark brown in color with a thick tan head, large bubbles, disapates pretty quickly. Huge coconut nose with undertones of maple, caramel and vanilla. Awesome taste to match the nose. Finishes with some heat.
