From bottle, courtesy of Beerman6686, at Dog Days Tasting. Smells like Almond Joy with a hint of coffee. Dark black opaque with foamy-creamy lacing tan head. Medium-heavy body with medium-light carbonation. Starts moderately sweet with caramel, coconut, almond, coffee, and chocolate. Tastes like a coffee-Almond Joy mix. Finish is a little dry and watery with a lot of carbonic tartness in the after.

Swing-top growler shared with timfoolery. Straight up mounds bar in beer form! Great beer.

Poured from growler... Poured dep, dark brown with a thin head. Aroma was intense. Containing Irish Cream liqueur, mocha, dark chocolate and coffee. Tasted like a sweet coffee cocktail. Roast was minimal which allowed all the chocolate and coffee notes to shine. Surprisingly thick mouthfeel and depth for the mere abv on this one. Coconut was there but not in your face and reminded me of Mounds candy bars.

Finally opened this one up. Poured a darker brown color with a beige head. Aroma was one of the most in your face impressive aromas Iíve ever smelled. Loads of coconut, white chocolate, and some maple there too. Flavor was predominantly coconut and lots off coffee with maple in the finish. Not as in your face as the aroma, but in a good way as its not too sweet and is melded very well. Get ya some!

Swing-top growler from Tony. Aroma and flavor of a Mounds bar (i.e. dark chocolate covered coconut) and Kona blend coffee. The carbonation was medium+ and very well integrated for a satisfying and drinkable mouthfeel. Walking into this one with a "how great could it be" attitude and walking out extremely happy to have tried this... Funky Buddha, make this into an imperial stout (more body), and I may just have to move to Florida. Excellent beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2013 Growler with a big thanks to beerman6686. Huge aroma of almond joy, coconut, chocolate, some coffee and maple. Cola colored pour. Not a very thick palate. Needs body.

Pour from growler, 08/08/2013, thanks to brystmar. Deep black pour, light tan head fades to a ring of lacing around the glass. Unbelievably vivid aroma- maple syrup, toasted waffle cone, sweet dark roasted malts, vanilla and fresh coconut. Taste is toasted coconut, vanilla wafer, light bitter roast. Medium body, very drinkable. The aroma is the star here, really interesting.

Growler with huge thanks to 50belair! I popped the top on this and my first words were - "smells like christmas!" Pours an opaque black with a small tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is coconut, vanilla, chocolate, liquer. Smells like (thanks for the reminder Aaron) a rum ball, which is probably why I thought it smelled like Christmas. Flavor is the same, roasty malts from the porter mixed with those wonderful rum ball flavors. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. What a great specialty beer!

Dark brown color, foam dusting the surface. Aroma as advertised: white chocolate and coconut, plus the usual porter character. Taste is similar. Coconut really comes through. I love it but ymmv.

Growler from 50belair. Thanks! A: Pours a thick, lightless black with a cappuccino head that foams up before settling into a whisper. Nice legs. N: Tons of coconut and white chocolate. Some coffee and Dutch cocoa. Mapple syrups, burnt brown sugar, and butterscotch. It takes awhile to get underneath the dominant flavors of the adjuncts, but itís worth the wait. T: Really well-balanced. Moderate to heavy sweetness. with a solid roasted malt/coffee base and some bitterness to balance it out. M: Moderate body with a pleasant level of carbonation. Exactly what I want in a porter. O: Easily the best porter Iíve had, and one Iím thinking about a couple hours afterwards as I transcribe my notes. The base beer comes through and the white chocolate and coconut are used to push it over the edge instead of as masking agents. High kudos from me.
