COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When we set out to make Nib Smuggler, we wanted to create a chocolate beer that was intensely chocolatey. So, we sourced the most potent, whole cocoa nibs we could find from South America, along with real vanilla beans for some added contrast. Flavors of chocolate, vanilla, and cream combine to create this rich, compelling chocolate porter.

CBC Session 4. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light and dry with fine minerally carbonation. Chocolate powder accentuated dark malts, mildly sweet. Not much else going on here. Light dry finish. Pleasant enough.

From Matt. Thanks! A: Dull black with a creme colored head. Lacing. N: Vanilla, cocoa, char, malt, wheat, black pepper, milk chocolate. Caramel and barley husk. Coffee. T: Moderately sweet and a rounding of bitterness. M: Creamy with a medium body. No alcohol. O: Chocolate bomb. Good coffee presence. Not nearly as great as last snow, but what could be?

(on tap @ Mikkeller & Friends) Pours a deep brown with toffee head. Decent retention and lace. Aroma is chocolate and vanilla. Creamy texture, medium carbonation, full body and a roasted, chocolate bitter finish. Flavour is pretty loyal to the aroma with added bitterness in the finish. Quite good but overshadowed by my previous experience with the Maple Bacon Coffee Porter and perhaps chocolate porters become a bit too perfumey for me. I feel the same way about the Samuel Smith Organic Chocolate Stout for example.
