Our search for the finest cocoa nibs brought us to the far corners of the earth. We tried them all: raw nibs from Guatemala; roasted jewels from the West Indies. But the most potent, intensely chocolatey ones we found hailed from the far-away reaches of Brazil. But there was one problem. We had to get them back. So with sacks in tow, we stole away with those precious nibs and smuggled them, along with fragrant Madagascar vanilla beans, deep into the reaches of a pitch black milk porter. And so, Nib Smuggler Chocolate Milk Porter was born.

Bottle given to me by a friend. Darkest brown pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of malt, vanilla and chocolate. Malty and chocolatey flavor with some vanilla before a creamy finish.

Pint draft at Goozlepipe JAX. Pours like a dark dry stout with a long lasting head of tiny bubbles. The aroma is rich and sweet milk chocolate. Outstanding flavor with gentle chocolate and just a hint of bitterness in the finish. Great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared, thanks Gregg. Still can’t believe the abv, this drinks like a complex BA imperial stout, nicely balanced with notes of chocolate cake and vanilla. Great stuff.

Bottle shared by MisoW in a train. Many thanks! I will borrow the most fitting deScriptor from Cuso - tiramisu. It covers aroma, mouthfeel and taste as well. Excellent. Other than that there is cacao and bold roastiness with a hint of chocolate.

12os bottle. Bottled 12/23/15 (51 days old). Appearance: Jet black, opaque, with a thick brown head and nice lacing. A fair amount of protein clumps floating through the beer, which harms the overall appearance. Aroma: Amazing, strong dark chocolate on the nose, with roast in the background and a touch of vanilla. Very nice. Taste: Rich, velvety chocolate dominates with a light roast. A touch of charred wood appears as well. Moderate bitterness to balance the rich maltiness. Roast is stronger retronasally. Mouthfeel: Medium body with some slickness and a low carbonation. Finish: Lingering roast and vanilla long after the swallow, and some bitterness in the back of the tongue. Overall: Really good balance of the roasted malt, dark chocolate, and vanilla. Creamy mouthfeel and a sharp enough bitterness to balance.
