Bottle shared with Timfoolery. Smelled of cocoa. Had the texture of Guiness on the mouth, but more chocolate and full flavored. Decent beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared at Dunt’s Tasting (Chicago, IL). Pours a rich deeper blackish brown hue, well hazed with nice darker colors, good glow and frothy tannish head. Aromas are rich cocoa, roast and caramel. Big nib, touches of coffee. Initial is firm to strong nib presence, firm roast, toast, touches of coffee, faint creamy vanilla. Middle is a bit toasty, dry, sweet espresso coffee elements, a firmer body. Backend is dry, cocoa nib, touches of sweet caramel and cream. Finish is dry, roasty and toasty, big nib. Solid. A bit one dimensional.

Liter growler from beer_nerd305, thanks Adrian. Poured a medium density Tootsie Roll chocolate brown with an average sized foamy light brown head. Aroma and flavor of very light chocolate milk, cocoa powder, grains, brown toast. Nice medium body with average carbonation and a solid finish that is refreshing even though this is chocolate beer. Good beer but I was expecting a little more chocolate throughout.

Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong cocoa nib and vanilla. Medium mouthfeel with rich chocolate and light vanilla with sweet finish. Very impressive.

Although labeled as a porter by the brewer, I think rate beer has it right by classifying this under a sweet stout. This is really a decadent beer without being too cloying. The cocoa, vanilla, and almost milky creaminess combine together harmoniously while touch of bitterness comes around naturally, balancing the beer out. Overall this beer is rich but not too much so to have another.

32 ounce growler pours a very dark black with hints of reddish color. A tan head lasts about a minute. Big chocolate and vanilla aromas extremely full-bodied with residual sweetness chocolate and vanilla flavors with a nice amount of hop bitterness. Leaves a nice oil he feeling on your lips. Another very nicely done beer By Funky Buddha.

Growler shared at Woodshop 8. Pours a clear, deep red. Weaker foam. Nose is peanut shell, mild plastic. BMan described it as a new basketball. Taste is hazelnut tea, weak coffee. Palate is thin. Not sure what happened here.

Aroma is yahoo. Chocolate watery aroma. Sweet forward with a milk chocolate back bone. For 6 percent pretty amazing. Nice balance I would get if local. Thin fading head. Only complaint a big to sweet.
