4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the Funky Buddha. Opaque black in color with a tan head. Aromas of chocolate and coffee. Chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt flavors with just enough hops to keep in honest. Another gem from the crew at the Buddha....

On draft at Funky Buddha. What a great way to spend a Thursday night, Cinco De Mayo no less. Dark color, black with a thin off white head. Good lacing, carbonation and retention. Aroma is full of chocolate, vanilla, and little bit of spiciness as well. Chocolate flavor with a nice bitter finish. Another stellar beer from the Buddha crew.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at the JCBF. Pours a near black with a small whitish tan head. Nose is slightly odd. A little musty and slightly old socky, could have been something left in the glass. Flavor profile is awesome though. Huge rich fudgy chocolate up front and I have to tell you its pretty much impossible to get that intense of a chocolate flavor from just nibs. Those must be some amazing nibs, a shame we may never see this beer again! Finishes smooth and lightly astringent. Really nice.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Draft… This beer rocks!… Pours very dark brown with a small, creamy, khaki head. The nose is jam-packed with chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. I’ve never experienced this level of intense chocolate in the aroma of a beer treated only with cacao nibs. Medium-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and busy carbonation. The flavor is moderately sweet and very chocolaty. Again, nibs, nibs, nibs, nothing but nibs! Finishes chocolaty and lightly sweet. Very refreshing, yet nourishing. Brazilian cacao is obviously “juiced” and probably illegal in the U.S., so drink it while they got it! World class brew!
