Our search for the finest cocoa nibs brought us to the far corners of the earth. We tried them all: raw nibs from Guatemala; roasted jewels from the West Indies. But the most potent, intensely chocolatey ones we found hailed from the far-away reaches of Brazil. But there was one problem. We had to get them back. So with sacks in tow, we stole away with those precious nibs and smuggled them, along with fragrant Madagascar vanilla beans, deep into the reaches of a pitch black milk porter. And so, Nib Smuggler Chocolate Milk Porter was born.

Draft. Pour is beautiful black with a light brown head. Nose is light chocolate. Taste is where this beauty shines. A ton of liquid chocolate in the taste. Medium body with a semisweet finish. Just a tad if sugar on the lips leaving you with a taste. Such good.

Bottle @ Pat’s. Just about black in color with a thin layer of off-white foam. This could easily be the most chocolatey beer I’ve ever had. Smells of chocolate, cocoa powder, and cocoa liqueuer. Some roast, a hint of coffee, and some dark fruit. There’s a nice sweetness of vanilla and milk chocolate on the tongue. Bitter cocoa powder/nibs. Some chocolate syrup, dark fruit. and toasted nuts.
