COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
“Make the long night shorter, Forgetting not, Good stout old English Porter.” — R. H. Messenger

Luscious and silky smooth with a body to match, OP Porter is uncompromisingly rich yet surprisingly drinkable. A complex blend of dark malts and real milk sugar creates the bold flavors of dark roast coffee mingling with farm fresh cream. For the stout and porter lover in each of us, OP is a knockout.

Pairing suggestions: Cave-aged Bleu cheese, arancini with veal ragu, roast pork with gravy, bacon burger with fried egg and cheddar cheese, molten chocolate cake.

Nose is luscious chocolate, light coffee. I think I smell bitter chocolate. Flavor is the same. Slightly more dark chocolate in the flavor but stops shirt of being astringent or overly coffee. Good stuff. ---Rated via intercellular device

On tap at The Brass Tap poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, bakers cocoa and light coffee. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, bitter chocolate and light coffee with a smooth lingering bitter chocolate finish.

Growler share at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell on 30 Jun 2012. Poured a dark brown, with a scummy beige head. Aroma of slightly funked dark malt, caramel and condensed milk. Slightly sour flavour, with rye bread, toffee and bourbon biscuits. Finish was esters, flat malt and more funk.

4oz pour at Churchkey DC pours a watery, dark brown with some clumpy, eggshell head. Nose is very bready, malty, mild chocolate, a little rootbeer. Flavor is malty, sweet, caramel, brown sugar, bready, light coffee. Clean, soft finish.

Draft at Churchkey during DC Craft Beer Week. Poured a dark brown color with a small off-white head, ruby edges. Aroma was some roasted malts, with some chocolate. Flavor was roasted malts, chocolate. Interesting. Is this a sweet stout or a porter? Will the world ever know?
