COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
From the Buddhist term meaning "bliss", our porter is brewed with lactose, a milk sugar, which rounds out the bitterness of the roasted malts. Still as roasty as a porter should be, but with a refreshing light sweetness.

4 oz sampler draft at the brewpub in Boca Raton, Florida. The pour is black brown, slight haze, and a small light tan head. The aroma is cocoa sweet, light char, and some molasses malt. The taste is a blend of cocoa sweet, molasses, and then finishes with the light roast. Nice balance of flavors. The palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation, and a clean dry mineral finish. Nice Porter.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2013 One of my favs at the Funky Buddha. Tap. Pours a jet black with a decent thin brown head. Aroma is strong with coffee, roasted nuts, and cocoa/chocolates. The taste is very good with huge coffee flavors, thick milky taste, malts, roasted cocoa, chocolate and a light sweetness that makes you want to have more.

A deep dark porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a smooth chocolate malt with lightly peated notes, coffee, nice. In mouth, a smooth sweet chocolate with some nice light smoked notes, nice and smooth, some vanilla, well done. On tap at brewpub, Feb. 13 2013.

Rich in coffee and roasted malts. It's a porter. Good but nothing really new. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared at CBC - Clerkenwell, London during the 1st Birthday Celebration. Thanks to Ken for this beer. I believe this was a handbottle or growler. Pours rich brown with a foamy, tan head. Some tandy dark malts on the nose. Medium sweet flavor, lightly roasty, with some honey and plenty of tang. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Light to medium sweet finish with tangy, lightly roasted malts and a mead-like honey note. If the tang here is intentional, it isn’t great; however, I’m guessing it’s not on purpose - a pity, as this is my first beer from Funky Buddha.

Bottle @ CBC’s 1st Birthday Party. Thanks to Ken (I think!) for bringing this along. The pour’s deep brown with no head. The nose is lactose and banana bread, chocolate with hints of vomit. The taste is very tangy lactose funk and cranberry covered chocolates. Some moldy brown dessert cake. The body is medium, the beer soft. This tastes like a somewhat malevolent infection to me. A bit of a fiasco, really.
