3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 glennmastrange (1637) - hobe sound, USA - FEB 5, 2012
Tap. Moderate malt notes of toasted and dark chocolate, light herbs and earth for the hops and yeast, with a hint of vanilla and milk in the background. Head is small, frothy tan with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly bittersweet. Palate is medium, watery with lively carbonation and a slightly dry and chalky finish. A tasty sweet stout with pretty good drinking quality to it.

Medium-dark brown. The aroma is mostly diacetyl with nuttiness. Harshly astringent, toasty, nutty and full of butter. Gotta take it off tap when it turns.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Beershine (4739) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - MAY 4, 2012
Draft at brewpub. Dark brown-black. Thin beige cap. Aroma is oily coconut and Diacetyl, sadly. Beneath that is a nice coffee roast but the oily palate and Diacetyl gets in the way completely.

Gorgeous color. The nose is not as pronounced as I would have hoped. It definitely has chocolate notes and lactose. The taste is a fantastic balance of coffee and chocolate. It finsishes with milky chocolate vanilla flavors. Fantastic and easily drinkable.

finish, and medium to heavy bodied. Drinkable which is the ultimate en=d game.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 pantanap (2838) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 15, 2011
Funky Buddha mystery growler #1... Pours a darker cola-like pour, more dark brown in nature, and topped with a thin wispy soapy off-white head... Aroma is nutty in nature with a light roast with almost seems like a berry fruit bent. More fruity than I would expect from a porter... Flavors are a continuation of the same with nutty caramels upfront and a lighter fruity notes as well to go along with a moderate milk chocolate focus. thin to medium bodied leaning more towards the former.

Draft at Funky Buddha. Brown-black with a rusty beige head. Rich lactic tones, very much in the Caribbean style of Stout. Sweet and milky, a pretty solid example of the style. Rich, sugary chocolate and some faint sour milk notes. Well done.
