Draft… Hazy golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. It really does smell like a Pina Colada or Hawaiian Tropic tanning oil – pineapple puree and coconut. Medium-bodied with a buttery mouthfeel and prickly carbonation. Well-balanced flavor. Clean, like a lager. Suggestions of pineapple, coconut and a little butter. Finishes crisp and tropical. Not overdone. Very nice. A real refresher.

On tap at the Blue Dog (Lansdale). Poured a muddy/hazy yellow color with an averaged sized white head. Pineapple withe some cereal and wheatiness coming out as it warmed. I’m not too crazy about wheat beers or pineapple, but found this one to be nice and drinkable.

Tap at CK. Full haze straw. Webby lace. Rich piña colada nose. Taste is straight up piña colada. But it's malty and sweeter. Not sour like some people were expecting. Refreshing. Bright. Essentially piña colada in beer form straight up.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Thorpe429 (4844) - , Illinois, USA - JUN 12, 2012
On tap at Churchkey. Served in a mini snifter. Pours a hazy bright yellow color with a nice, fluffy white head. The nose brings forward fairly-strong notes of pineapple along with some underlying coconut. Fairly intense and well integrated. The flavor takes it up another step, as in addition to the fruit, there’s an underlying wheat character that actually tastes like beer. With the nose, I was afraid that this was just going to taste no different than an actual pina colada. Body is light and very refreshing. I could drink this all day. By far my favorite of the event.
