Tap at Hunahpu’s Day courtesy of Dakine. Blood Red. Aroma of sweet raspberries and funk. Interesting and quite refreshing. Nice!

Different to say the least. Color is red. Taste is big raspberries and finish is sour. Alcohol content could be higher and I can't drink more than one. But definetly worth a try ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours reddish with zero head even with some vigorous swirling. The aroma has mildly tart raspberry, mildly funky, some lightly toasted notes, citrus and lightly acidic. The flavor is mildly tart raspberry, mildly sour citrus, lightly acidic; not much else going on. I was mildly disappointed by this.

On draft. Pours a deep pink with a white head. Nose is some tartness along with big raspberries and a big tart character. Flavor follows: big tartness and some nice complimentary fruit flavor. Light to medium in body and lingering fruit and tart. An insanely good berliner.

pours a hazy reddish pink with no head. Aroma of massive amounts of raspberries. Taste follows. Tastes like a super sour framboise!

Draft at Monk’s Cafe in Philadelphia, PA. Pours a deep dark red color that looks kind of like a mixture of fruit punch and fake blood from a ’70s blacksploitation film. Minimal pinkish-white head that immediately fades. No lacing. The aroma of this beer is bursting with uber fresh, tart raspberry that overpowers almost everything else. Some lactic funk and acidity but the raspberry character is so promient that it doesn’t smell(or taste) like a Berliner weiss. Really strong sweet raspberry presence that smells really nice but I wish that it was a bit truer to style. Medium bodied with a nice balance of raspberry sweetness and tart, puckering sourness. Again, the raspberries dominate but it’s a little more complex than the nose suggests. Very, very sweet with a rush of tart and sweet raspberry flavor that lingers over some lactic funk and citric acidity into a dry, tart finish. It’s even a little bit seedy but after a while the raspberry flavor becomes a bit overwhelming. Like the other three Berliners from FB that I’ve tried, the traditional characteristics are almost completely overshadowed. Could use more funk, citrus, bread and wheat. Definitely the sweetest of the four I’ve tried so far but I did enjoy the fresh raspberry flavor.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2012 Way too tart and sour. Nice aroma but it ends there. Unless you like this tart style of beer, go with their hop gun.

On draft at Churchkey in D.C. The beer is a gorgeous, radiant pink hue. A miniscule head fades entirely within a few moments. Both the aroma and flavor are dominated by raspberries and pie crust. Add a touch of brettanomyces and that about sums it up. Big pucker factor in the finish. Aggressively tart. Overall, this was enjoyable but not on the same level as the superb Passion Fruit Berliner.

On draft at the Sour Fest, poured a nice pink color, witha romas of fresh cut raspberries, tart raspberry puree, and light funk. Flavor is the same, not overly tart, very drinkable in the heat. Glad this one was here for me to try.

Pours a pink hued red, almost light cranberry in color. Nose is all sweet raspberry. Taste is tons of seedy, prickly raspberries, but a bit sweet. Could be a little more tart, but still refreshing nonetheless.
