Traditional German Berliner weisse beers are tart affairs, often sweetened by the addition of woodruff syrup. Brewed with white wheat malt and fermented with lactobacillus, our tart Berliner riffs on this popular German tradition with the inclusion of fresh raspberries. The delicate and mildly sweet notes of the rasberries offsets the inherent tartness of this weisse beer, making for a intoxicatingly fruity, yet refreshing experience.

Hazy pink color with a small, off white head that left light lacing. Aroma of raspberries, and skins. Taste was raspberry, with lactic funk, and a tart finish.

On tap at Bainbridge. Hazy cranberry red with tan froth; beautiful. Nose is raspberry and vanilla yoghurt. Creamy with a soft, sour tang. Taste is raspberry, lactic but smooth. Finishes chalky with a mild, lingering pucker.

Pours gorgeous unclear ruby cranberry red with no head. Aroma is too light, some sweet berry tart and then it dies. Flavor brings tartness on a juicy body with a light tart ending. The fruit is in the background.

Different to say the least. Color is red. Taste is big raspberries and finish is sour. Alcohol content could be higher and I can't drink more than one. But definetly worth a try ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours reddish with zero head even with some vigorous swirling. The aroma has mildly tart raspberry, mildly funky, some lightly toasted notes, citrus and lightly acidic. The flavor is mildly tart raspberry, mildly sour citrus, lightly acidic; not much else going on. I was mildly disappointed by this.

On draft. Pours a deep pink with a white head. Nose is some tartness along with big raspberries and a big tart character. Flavor follows: big tartness and some nice complimentary fruit flavor. Light to medium in body and lingering fruit and tart. An insanely good berliner.

pours a hazy reddish pink with no head. Aroma of massive amounts of raspberries. Taste follows. Tastes like a super sour framboise!

Draft at Monkís Cafe in Philadelphia, PA. Pours a deep dark red color that looks kind of like a mixture of fruit punch and fake blood from a í70s blacksploitation film. Minimal pinkish-white head that immediately fades. No lacing. The aroma of this beer is bursting with uber fresh, tart raspberry that overpowers almost everything else. Some lactic funk and acidity but the raspberry character is so promient that it doesnít smell(or taste) like a Berliner weiss. Really strong sweet raspberry presence that smells really nice but I wish that it was a bit truer to style. Medium bodied with a nice balance of raspberry sweetness and tart, puckering sourness. Again, the raspberries dominate but itís a little more complex than the nose suggests. Very, very sweet with a rush of tart and sweet raspberry flavor that lingers over some lactic funk and citric acidity into a dry, tart finish. Itís even a little bit seedy but after a while the raspberry flavor becomes a bit overwhelming. Like the other three Berliners from FB that Iíve tried, the traditional characteristics are almost completely overshadowed. Could use more funk, citrus, bread and wheat. Definitely the sweetest of the four Iíve tried so far but I did enjoy the fresh raspberry flavor.
