COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Seven different malts were used to make this reddish, brown nectar we call Red Dawn Ale. A sweet malt first sip due in part to honey malt is offset with a roasty, hazelnut finish. Part amber, part brown ale, all good.

Hazy brownish red. Has a bit of a fruity aroma. Sweetish. Slight caramel and also a little bit of tartness. Not in great form.

Draft at brewpub. Murky red brown. Thin cap. Aroma has fruity malt, the palate is slick and thin. The flavors are also very fruity (orchard fruit), and has an old world feel to it. The flattish palate makes it seem like a cask pour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft: Poured a reddish brown with an off white head. Aroma was malty. Taste was of burnt malt and a bit sour, drying the tongue.

I had hoped for more excitement in this beer, but it did not yield anything particularly mind blowing. It was a decent beer for the most part, just not a memorable beer. It was a little nutty in flavor, but pretty subtle for the most part. There was a bit of carmel in this, but not enough to really jump out at you.

Nice dark red appearance, a bit too sweet for my taste.... but enjoyable and drinkable. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

The Red Dawn is a decent Red Ale. It pours a nice deep red color with a hefty head. The initial aroma is that it will be very malty with heavy roasted nuts. The actual taste doesn’t deliver quite the nuttiness that seems to be in the aroma. It has a slight watery taste and leaves you wanting something more. Overall though it was good.

Sample at the Funky Buddha bar on 10/28/11. Very good but I prefer the Amber Ale.
